This is a stretch comparing Tubby's situation at UK vs. Brady's situation at LSU. How does Tubby run off players? I will go out on a limb, he did run off a player who we will not named (Carruth) due to selfishness...ran off OU as well. Az left due to family situation (Dad in hot water with the feds and is running up huge legal fees)...Az felt pressure from the family to make a run whether it was in the NBA or in Europe. Az knew he was heading to Europe, but saying Az left due to Tubby is false. Morris had the parents and friends back in hot Atlanta whispering in his ear to make a move to the NBA knowing he may not get drafted. Morris did not get drafted and supposedly did not retain an agent...still waiting for the NCAA to decide whether he comes back. Give Tubby credit how he handled Crawford. Joe was being selfish...crying over playing time. Tubby made it clear he would not release him. Iw will say Joe is moping again but message is clear...stop being selfish and play within team. Keep in mind, Tubby will land the Burger guys, but it seems he likes the 4 year players (Fitch, Hayes, Daniels, etc). It drives our fan base nuts because he will not land the 4 star McD AA, but he likes the players he knows that will stick around for the long hual...After all, Billy D of UF said Tubby may be on to something in the way he recruits...noticed Billy D recruits latley?:yelwink2:
the point many of us are making is that it doesnt matter why a player leaves, just that he leaves and the team suffers because of it. obviously there are more tolerable reasons for a player leaving, and, if those were the only situations in which a player left under brady, less of us would bring it up.
I wasn't knocking Tubby. Your explanations are fine. However, the Kentucky fans who dislike Tubby will not buy any of that just like the fans who dislike Brady will never acknowledge the truth about why players leave LSU. I remember the weekly questions to Dale Brown was to why he was not offering Hot Rod Williams a sholarship to LSU. Now we all no why. If only the Tulane coach, at the time, had the integrity of Dale Brown.
No, you're just too obvious with your posts.....DEFEND, DEFEND, DEFEND it's got to end somewhere.....but I guess all is perfect in your little LSU world
Anybody have a clue as to what the thread title should have been? beside the horrible spelling, which was not a hasty mistake but actually the way he thinks it's really spelled since he did it again in the first post.....but the title doesn't even make sense on top of that
Sorry to disagree...even Tubby haters are knowledgeable (very small handful) know that Marvin Stone and Curruth were cancers in the locker room. Seems everyone was agreement with Tubby not allowing Crawford to leave without being released from his scholarship. Maybe if Brady would stand up to some of his players and not allowing them their release, he would not have such a mass exodous from the program. I know from first hand, Brady is not the easiest guy to work with...he can be down right a major prick. It takes a special coach and a proven winner to have the Burger Boys...just because you have a great recruiting class does not mean you are going to win...these players expect to be the man and get their minutes. It is obvious, some are no there for the school part. I am agreement with you, some just want to knock on Brady, lets be honest, he gets the most out of his teams...after all, Daddy Dale did not leave the program in such great shape. Brady has brought respect back to Tiger Town. The problem is a weak pre conference schedule over the years was blowing smoke...need to play the big boys to get the team ready for SEC and tourney time. Playing Louisiana state schools is not going to cut it. I am getting tired of UK getting the bad rap hating Tubby...LSU should know when a coach follows a savior of the program, there are going to be some haters (ie, Miles following Saban).Ask the majority (95% of the fan base) they love Tubby as a coach and what he stands for.:yelwink2:
