Uhhh, Bush made an executive order directing that The Geneva Convention would not be followed. That was OVERT and had nothing to do with CBS or anybody else but the President.

It didn't need to be done. The torture would have happened covertly anyway without the diplomatic, ethical, and political fallout.

This subject is a non-issue, Bush was the problem.
If an attack does happen some how that could change everything like the economy did this past year.
Meanwhile Obama and his government are doing there best to destroy the country economically.
Yeah, there might not be much left of the country by then.
I'm expecting another great depression brought on by government.
I will hardly recognise this country by then, it will be like Fallout 3!

Agreed. Up until a year or so ago I would just open my laptop case because I carry a ton of electrical stuff and gadgets when I fly. DSLR camera with some big lenses, laptop, power block, 12V inverter, camcorder, mini keyboard, track ball mouse, chargers, spare batteries, radio, ipod, flash drive, etc..etc. It got to the point where there was nothing but a cursory inspection at best so I quit opening the case before the Xray machine and guess what, its never checked. I could have a mountain of explosives and nobody would know.

I also fly a good bit in Canada but thats a different story. They make me turn everything on, insert my spare batteries to see if they work, plug in my chargers and carefully inspect all my electronics. It would be a thousand times more difficult to bring contraband on an airplane if you depart from Canada.

It ain't to make you feel good.
It's there to piss us all off.
I was randomly searched in NOLA before boarding a plane to Houston.
Not a terrible ordeal, just a big ass headache.
I had a paperclip (yes, A, as in ONE paperclip) that was holding together some paperwork for our Texas office.

They took the paperclip and said it was a banned item. Naturally I asked "why?" There response was that I could make a weapon with it.

So I asked if they thought I was phucking MacGyver or something.
They let me get on the plane, but not withpout being pricks 1st. No they didn't rough me up or anything, just rather rude.

"Surprisingly", I got "randomly" checked while trying to board a connecting flight in Houston.
I really wanted to ask if the Mexicans in NOLA put them up to it.
Kinda figured that wouldn't be a good idea.

There is plenty we should do, but it won't happen. Much the same as children only learn about fire by getting burned, not by hearing a warning. This is not a country on a war alert like Israel is/has been for decades. The majority of our citizens do not serve a hitch in the military.

It is an unfair to compare us to Israel's and their security measures because we have not suffered the same as they have. Eventually, we will be targeted in different ways and aspects of our lives will change accordingly.
