The only thing I can think of is they hear suspensions, injuries, distractions, etc. :dis: But weren't they favored before all of the bs? by 1.5?
I was referring to the 98 passing yards on our end. But Ware and Ford both got almost 100 yards rushing apiece, so I guess should have used 'passing game' rather than 'offense.'
Truthfully, I didn't stay on top of this all week as we found ourselves in a remote area called Shasta Lake. Last I had heard, the spread was 3.
eh, that's just SabanFan. He doesn't want to hear about it, even if 30 of the 40 points would have been scored by our defense and special teams. He'll still simply say "we scored 40 points".
Still, having two different rushers get nearly 100 yards isn't exactly bad. I hadn't considered that when I typed. I know some of those points came off turnovers, so the D deserves some cred there.
I think if the voters watched the entire game, they noticed that the game wasn't as close as the score. Imagine how strong this team will be if they tighten up tonight's errors.
The passing game probably still rates out to a C-/D+ and is far from where we need it to be. The running game is the best I have seen it in quite some time (best in the Les Miles era). I mean this was primarily an 8 man box knowing full well we were running it and often times that did not matter. Especially on that 3rd and goal at the 5, we ran it for the 3rd straight time and created a hole you or I could run through. Pretty damn impressive.
True, and also the rushing totals would have been much higher if they'd been able to throw the ball downfield effectively. Oregon had to stack the box (which didn't work!).
I felt bad for Oregon. They've had such as persistent pr campaign to prove that they're for real, and it crashed and burned into a giant dumpster fire tonight. They're now back to being the Ole Miss of the west. Bless their little hearts.
