you dont seem to understand. I oppose the whole idea of even being a muslim or a jew. that is what causes the problem, that is what keeps the conflict going over the generations. that is why people group together against each other with problems can that can never be resolved because ultimately they are based on myths. if you side with one group or the other, you are involving yourself in an endless conflict over nonsense. THAT is the problem, not the solution.
The Quran actually says that the land Israel possesses is the Jew's land promised to them by God. Even the Muslim holy book states the land the Jews live in is the promised land and that they must return there before the end of the world. So your question is actually a very easy one to answer in terms of what both groups religious texts say. Now in actuallity it isn't so easy but most things are harder in actuallity.
While I do not share the same beliefs as martin, his points do have some truth. When wars are fought over beliefs and not ideas there can only be one way to ensure victory and that is TOTAL Destruction of the religion. Because as long as one fantic has a breath the fight goes on. BUT to ensure our way of life, even yours martin we must contuine to hold our "Boot" on their throats.
i dont even respect the idea that a goup of people called jews exists in the sense that anything can be "theirs". there is no such thing as ethnic birthright. the whole idea is ridiculous. people are individuals. i have the same rightful claim to "jewish land" as the jews. jewishness is a meaningless construct of stupid people.
i appreciate that you read my opinion and considered it. i think it may be true that a conflict like this wil never end as long as the belief systems of these people continue to be passed along. and i guess for one group to totally get destroyed, that would mean another would have to win, and that is unfortunate. i would prefer if neither existed and all people lived in secular communities and kept their religious beliefs as a personal thing that doesnt cause conflict. but yes, if i had to choose a side i would choose the israelis. but i do not want to choose a side, i would prefer to not have any part of it. i dont want to make this fight our fight, because i see no end to it. for practical purposes i agree with red on this one.
Point is, this whole idea that we are war over Christianity, Judaism or Islam is a farse. What Red and 60% of our own country does not understand is these people want to frame this as a holy war.....when it's the farthest thing from it. This is tyranny and facism. We have seen this before. These barbarians can do whatever they want to to women, pray 100 times a day. It isn't about that friends and neighbors. This is an enemy we have seen before.......facism. The quicker we realize that the better off we'll be.
Name one criminal gang or terrorist group in the Islamic world that isn't our enemy? Which one for instance? Like I said, Israel goes down, we go down. People have to come to grips with what are up against here.....this isn't about hijacking an airplane and holding them hostage any longer Red. This isn't an Iranian Embassy incident here. We are tackling facism. To think that if we stop backing Israel, or stop selling magazines and rock music in these countries that everything will go away is an idea that I'm praying we have enough people who do not share in that opinion to keep going. But like I said, I believe we will have to see a bunch more death and destruction within our own country before we see us rise up. What would you like Israel to do? What if groups within Mexico were launching missiles into San Diego every day? What then? Reach some sort of truce? Talk to them? Hope that we can all hold hands and they'll go away? I didn't say we go and put ground troops in to help Israel. They can handle this themselves. But if they couldn't, then yes we do everything we can, including ground troops. Why not? Hezbollah may not like us anymore? They hate us now dude. They would kill you and your family and cheer about it. Give me a break.
no, i wouldnt care if israel was 100% secular, i am basicaly never in favor if intervening anywhere. countries should defend themselves. however, if there are connections between these guys now and the guys who attacked us, i would favor fighting. i do not know that to be the case, but i could certainly change my mind. i am only in favor of the iraq war now because we got involved in '91, which i think was a mistake. i think we should always allow the world to roll along without our input, unless we are threatened. i believe the current war in iraq is an extension of our rescue of kuwait. i also think that had we not ever become involved in anyone else's fights, we never would have been attacked on 9/11. i was not molested by priests. i went to a very friendly church when i was a kid and i liked everyone there and always had fun there, playing basketball and whatnot. my contempt for religion is not based on anything personal, but rather the fact that religions are insane nonsense that i cant believe anyone takes seriously.
This is not cut and dry like it has been in the past. Your are right this is facism but it is facism with a twist. Religion does have a HUGE part in this. And it is that reason alone that makes this unlike any enemy we have EVER faced. Every war every fight we have been in before always had a clear cut way out, if done right. Kill the leader, kill the dream and idea. Now you kill the leader and there are 100's ready to take his place. This fight, this war will only end with the ERADICATION of the enemy, down to the VERY LAST ONE. But in this world we live in, we as Americans are not ALLOWED to do that, eventhough thats what they would like to do to us. SO we have to play the game and keep them from ever gain status as a Real Powerful Treat. And maybe I am wrong for thinking that way, maybe that makes me a bad person. BUT I dont hate them or dispise them for their beliefs, they can believe whatever the hell they want to. My reason for hating them is because they want to change MY way of life.
