In watching coverage of the Israeli war effort, just about every pundit I see starts up with how they can't believe how slow the US has acted to respond to the war.....basically, why haven't we called for cease-fire negotiations and the like.

For one, and I heard Fred Barnes say this, I'm glad that the US is backing off doing anything. Before we hold any negotiations over anything, Israel should go in there and clean out as much of south Lebanon as they can so that when we do reach some sort of cease-fire, at least it may hold while since Hezbollah will be seriously curbed back.

We hold negotiation after negotiation with known liars and criminal terrorist groups and expect them to respect a treaty or cease-fire? It's a joke. Israel should do what they have to do and then we'll talk about negotiations.

I'm constantly amazed by these journalists and columnists who claim that the Bush administration should be forcing sides to talk......talk about what? Lebanon already had a UN council agreement to disarm Hezbollah. They didn't do that, Hezbollah attacked Israel and took soldiers as hostages, launched missiles on civilian targets and Bush should make Israel stop attacking and negotiate? Amazing. All that will do is allow Hezbollah the time to regroup and rearm.

That kind of attitude, illogical, peacenik, holding hands, moonbat notion is what has the world in this shape with terrorism now.

It's amazing to see the number of people in this country who want to negotiate with terrorists. A cease-fire would involve talking with hezbollah and giving them something in return. We talked to Arafat and we all see where that got us.

Pretty soon the left we'll want to negotiate with Bin Laden....

I think we do. You've stated here that you hope Jews die and you've called them dirty Jews. There are no such statements by you about Muslims. You, my friend, are the closed minded one, you only take a portion of the Bible for your simple views. Read it all and stop trying to be hard.

In one post you hate Jews because they deny Christ, in another post you have no beliefs and all religion is garbage. Which part were you being sarcastic about? What do you really believe? How can you hate Jews for denying Christ when you deny him yourself?

Not all wars are inherently bad.

And like you and LSUCraig are saying, negotiating with these animals makes no sense. Cease fires are intended for rational sides that can mutually benefit from such action. Israel has nothing to gain in a cease fire. Why should the US ask them to play nice with each other? If anything, we should ship more arms over there to end this thing sooner.

there's never been a cease fire to benefit anyone except when one of the parties is a terrorist. its just another way of saying we're getting our asses kicked, we need a timeout.

craig, you said our best interest is to allow israel to do as much damage to the hiz as possible, well thats been our plan since the beginning. thats why condi has not gone there. it would be foolish to have her arrive right in the middle of it since it would likely force the dreaded cease-fire. 2 days ago, the israelis had said they'd already knocked out at least 50% of the katyushas.

thats pretty effective. however i do wonder with all the lebanese who just ridded themselves of syria just a year ago are now being forced to take refuge evacuating there now even the most level-headed ones are outraged blaming the west and siding with the hizzies.

Either way, there's no way a true democracy could have ever existed with a terrorist state within a state as it was. so no matter the loss of infrastructure, a net gain will be the end result if they can rid the area of all cockroaches. I suppose they will run them north to syria and others to iraq to become even bigger nuisances to our forces there.

Now the initial problem which led to all this has resurfaced. the Lebanon people must choose sides once and for all. there's no gray area as this may be the first and last time in history all the moderate arab nations and super powers agree who is at fault for something.

We need to let israel clean house even though the last thing they want is to commit full ground troops, i think its a must or they will just be back to where they started. then once done they can back out, give control to the SLA and go from there. from there means starting with syria and working our way to iran til we cut off the problem at the throat. if israel doesnt do this, their doom will come sooner than later.

i dont believe any of the bible. i consider being jewish a stupid choice, and i am exaggerating for emphasis when i call them dirty jews. don't worry i think muslims are plenty terrible, but since everyone already knows that i emphasize negativity towards jews more.

being jewish is intentionally rejecting reason, that is what i do not like.

i was asking why christians have such favorable attitudes towads the jews, who are headed straight for eternal torture. of course in reality i like everyone, i just am frustrated by the fact that so many people are tricked by what i see as backward and primitive beliefs that i think are a huge net negative for the world.

Where do you get the idea of eternal torture, or anything else eternal, if you don't believe the Bible?
