If it is someone in the NFL, I'd think an existing DC in the NFL would look at this as perhaps a step down or at best a lateral move. So, my guess would be that likely NFL candidates would be position coaches on NFL playoff teams - most likely LB coaches since that is currently the 'open' position (that Chavis was responsible for).
Interestingly, the Cowboys LB coach used to be DC at Mizzou. Not sure if any significance should be read into that.

The Steelers went 11-5 this past season, finishing first in the AFC North. But they lost in the opening round of the playoffs last weekend to the Ravens, 30-17. Overall, the defense allowed 23 points per game during the regular season, which ranked 18th in the league. "It's just time to make a break," he told the Daily Citizen. LeBeau is a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
