You think coaches are telling positives on LSU? This happens all the time in recruiting. LSU shows them all the former LSU Tigers in the NFL, works every time.

Yep, a CB, this is a position that we do well filling every class, ever heard of DBU? DL, like he is the only one, keep an eye on Arden Keys, coming in for a visit real soon. Should be at LSU on the 19th. FYI.

The DL should be looking a little better this year, a number of kids still learning the
system. Godchaux with a year starting under his belt. Valentine and Trey LMAF get a shot in the mix. The weakness last year was DL, some talk, this could be a strength this year.

Edit to add: Word is now out Keys will visit LSU on the 16th, guess he couldn't wait?

The point is that a few players will reconsider when any position coach leaves that he liked, but most don't really come to a school for a position coach or coordinator. Few even come for a head coach. Most choose a school based on location, school tradition, and most importantly . . . the prospects of early playing time.

THE SKY IS FALLING...THE SKY IS FALLING....THE SKY IS FALLING I can't decide whether it is funny or sad how so many can read doom into everything. Then there are those who seem to be taking so much glee in the situation hoping and praying that this will lead to a coaching change. You all are both jokes. Certainly entitled to your opinion AND to express it. I wouldn't want you do be silent as it often makes my day reading.

Maybe this will clear some of this up?

Top recruits pick best stadium and game-day atmosphere
SAN ANTONIO – The 2015 U.S. Army All-American players were polled last week by 247Sports on a number of topics, including which school they think has the best stadium and which school has the best game-day atmosphere. LSU ranked high in the minds of the future college stars in the anonymous poll.

The players were asked which college stadium was their favorite of the ones they had been to, and LSU’s Tiger Stadium and Tennessee’s Neyland Stadium came out on top with nine total votes each, edging out USC’s Memorial Coliseum (8).

LSU came out on top again in the best game-day atmosphere category, tying Ohio State with eight total votes when players were asked to name the best they had ever experienced. Alabama and Georgia each got seven votes, while Tennessee and Texas A&M each received six.

The impression made on these star players by the schools has paid off on the recruiting trail. LSU currently has the No. 10-ranked recruiting class in the country according to the 247Sports team recruiting rankings and is in position to close strong and climb higher.

The rest of the schools finishing in the top group mentioned above also currently have top-10 recruiting classes, led by No. 1 Alabama. Georgia (No. 3), USC (No. 4), Tennessee (No. 5), Ohio State (No. 7) and Texas A&M (No. 8) have also been able to sell their facilities and atmosphere well to top recruits.

See the full results of the poll questions below.

I don't believe the sky is falling. The sun will come up and all that jazz. However, I do enjoy watching LSU football during the fall. I would love to have the coaches available to ensure we have a good game plan and the smarts to adjust the game plan on game day. In my opinion (which is what is shared on a fan board), the perception is that LSU is struggling to find coaches willing to come to our school. Then if they take this long and then promote from within it will only further increase that perception.

Recruiting is definitely a perception driven thing and is the lifeblood of a program. If the other coaches can drive home that perception to players considering LSU it can dry up our lifeblood.

I have believed in Miles for many years, but his stubborn refusal to change the offense has given me pause on his decision making. Just because one post something that is not flattering of the coaching staff, I do not want them fail.

In the end I want LSU to win and win in the right way. Miles has done that at LSU and I am very grateful. However LSU has three years of decreasing SEC victories is a disturbing trend. The other disturbing trend is that the only area that showed any noticeable improvement was the defense. Then LSU allowed that coach to leave so this is a very important hire.

I hope that if Brick is promoted because he was the most qualified not because we settled. If he was the most qualified wouldn't we have promoted him immediately?
