Looks to who? Coaches changing schools goes on for a month at the end of every football season. Everybody concerned knows how it works, including recruits. What desperation? There is no problem in filling the position and no real hurry either. There is no trophy for hiring a coach quickly. It is far more important to get this hire right. Coaches need time to decide and so does Les.
Shea Dixon was just on 104.5 talking about not having a DC in place right now. He does this for a living, he said nothing changes with the wait on a DC. As of right now, it wouldn't matter if one was announced 3 days ago, or three days from now. He did say, 2016, looks to be a great year for LSU in getting recruits. He also said, kids look more at what LSU has done with recruits. I said some of the same the other day. Chief did very little with recruiting, he left it up to many others on the staff. Chief would go to the East coast look at kids, then spend time at his house there.
"Time, tide, and meal formation wait for no one!" Ahhhhhhhhhhh I remember it well. Not fondly, but well.
I agree but if you believe coaches aren't telling these kids negative things about LSU because of this hire then you are crazy. And before everyone says it, I know it's a dead period, but I guarantee schools are communicating with these kids during the dead period trying to get their commitment.
That goes on anyway and we're telling them what we want them to hear, too. Hundreds of coaches got fired and hundreds of schools will try to spin that in some fashion. I just don't think this is any big deal for recruiting.
But this was not a firing, our DC left for what he considered a better opportunity. And whatever LSU is telling them is not working as we have had a decommit and a big recruit choose another school at a position of need DL.
