I'm just scared to death that Randall is going to work his ass off, compete all through spring and then the fall, win the starting job and on our first possession of the year all of the IDIOT FANS are going to boo because they want the freshman!!!
We need to support Marcus Randall. May the best quarteback win the starting role. Randall deserves as much of a chance as the two freshmen. Yes, I agree, at times Randall didn't impress me, but in the last 20 years, I can only think of one LSU quarterback that looked awesome in his 1st start-Tommy Hodson in the 1986 Texas A&M game. Did anyone see Herb Tyler, Rohan Davey, and Matt Mauck in their 1st starts? None of the 3 played an outstanding game; however, they turned out to be great quarterbacks with impressive winning percentages. I agree with the last post-if Randall does get the starting role, we need to support him through thick and thin. We are the greatest fans in college football, aren't we?
One thing about Randall, no one has ever said he gives less than 100% when he is on the field. If he has the starting job in the fall you can be damn sure he will have earned it !
By the way, Marcus Randall makes good grades and is a math major. Only people with brains are math majors who make good grades.
I don't think Randall transfers. He is a junior already and will be a senior next year, and he knows he will be given a fair shot at earning the starting job at QB. Why would he transfer?
I've mentioned this before and others have supplied the stats to back me up. What were Randall's numbers in his last three games (Ole Miss, Ark, Texas) last year if you remove the 2nd half of the Cotton Bowl? He injured his leg (calf?) towards the end of the 1st half so I think it's worth at least looking at. It was something like 6 TDs with 0 INTs and a 60% completion. That sounds like a solid SEC QB to me. With the RBs/WRs and a Wilkerson/Whitworth led dominant O-Line, I think any of the 3 QBs will do fine.
I would take MR before most of the SEC QB's. Saban will put the best man on the field, you can bank on that. However, I would like to see one of the fresh show the great potential that everyone thinks they have and be a clear cut #1 QB out of the 3 competing.
Listen guys, with the speed and depth at running back, wide receiver & the talented young tight ends that we have, our QB will not be called on to win many games next year. Don't get me wrong, I would love to see one of the young freshman QB's start, but I believe that in order to win another SEC & National Championship we need an experienced guy at the helm. Marcus Randall fits the bill!
