If this is the case then why does he make the comment not to put this on the thing. To me it screams he still realizes that whatever he says can and will be printed or repeated. If he doesn't want it printed, then tell them point blank-"This is OFF THE RECORD" If the statement is then printed then we would bash the reporter.

The poster who made the comment about Saban acting like a 13 year old girl hit the nail on the head.

Saban has no shame. Further, I believe he said ditchdigger in a figurative sense. How many Cajun accented ditch diggers do you ever see in downtown New Orleans. Maybe a yat on a work crew, but ditch digger. Ever see any ditches?

The man is making jokes about his past friends to ingratiate himself with the new.

I'll say this, when Saban rides into town on the team bus, someone needs to make a big sign:

"Hey Nick, do you still get to Fuc* the reporter when you lose?"

I don't either. He was just telling a joke; not making fun of Louisianians. I know we are not happy with Saban going to Bama, but we need to stop reading evil intentions in everything he says and does. Saban did not handle the Bama situation well, but that is no excuse for demonizing him. He is a coach. IMO he made some bad decisions that angered a lot of people. But we really need to let it go.

I know I'm going to get some major red dots from some of you on this, but what the hell....

The people of Louisiana have no right to get indignant and offended by anything negative said about them. For crying out loud, the people of LA relected Nagin and Jefferson. Freaking COCKFIGHTING is still a legal practice in LA. LA is close to last in almost every single category dealing with quality of life, but nothing ever changes.

Don't get me wrong, I'm as coonass as the rest of you, born and raised in BR, but there is a reason I moved out of that backward ass state at the first opportunity.

The only people offended are the ones who have an irrational hatred for Saban.

As for your driver, if his comment made no reference to the guy's race, why even point it out in your story?
