I guess number 20 is the only number in LSU lore that gets official recognition but it is retired. I wonder if any other number will ever be retired? Number 1 always seemed to me to be a special number for a real fast guy but of course that isn't always the case at all. When I was a kid 31 was my favorite because of Jimmy Taylor but I don't remember if he even wore it when he was at LSU as I was too young.

31 for Dom. Davis is my personal favorite. I always wore #31 growing up in both basketball and football and my name is Dustin Davis, so I enjoyed watching another D. Davis wear my number at LSU! Its too bad hes 37 for the Texans.

I think Taylor wore #42 at LSU. Or at least I seem to remember seeing a picture of him wearing a #42 jersey.

Y.A. wore #14 with the New York Giants. I don't know if he had the same number when he was with the 49ers.

The traditional numbers for quarterbacks is from 1 to 19. Can you fill in the blanks of other LSU or pro QBs with these numbers?

1 - I think Warren Moon wore #1 with the Oilers
2 - Tim Couch - Cleveland Browns, Aaron Brooks - Saints
3- Bobby Hebert - Saints, Joey Harrington - Lions
4- Brett Favre - Packers, Trent Dilfer - Seahawks
5- Jeff Wickersham - LSU, Kerry Collins - Giants, Jeff Garcia - 49ers, Donovan McNabb - Eagles
    6 - Rohan Davey - LSU & Patriots
7 - Bert Jones - LSU and Colts, John Elway - Broncos, Michael Vick - Falcons
8 - Archie Manning - Saints, Mark Brunell - Jaguars and Redskins, David Carr - Texans, Tommy Maddox - Steelers
9 - Jim McMahon - Bears, Steve Mcnair - Titans, Jay Fiedler - Dolphins
10- Fran Tarkington - Vikings, Trent Green - Chiefs, Chad Pennington - Jets
11- Phil Simms - Giants, Daunte Culpepper - Vikings, Drew Bledsoe - Bills
12 - Tom Brady - Patriots, Joe Namath - Jets, Terry Bradshaw - Steelers. Kenny Stabler - Raiders, Rich Gannon - Raiders
13 - Tommy Hodson - LSU, Dan Marino - Dolphins, Kurt Warner - Rams
14 - Herb Tyler - LSU, Kenny Anderson - Cincinatti Bengals, Brian Griese - Dolphins, Brad Johnson - Bucs
    15- Bart Starr - Packers
16 - Craig Nall - LSU & Packers, Joe Montana - 49ers, Chiefs, Jim Plunkett - Raiders, Jake Plummer - Broncos, Vinnie Testaverde - Jets
    17 - Jake Delhomme - Panthers
18 - Matt Mauck - LSU, Peyton Manning - Colts
    19 - Johnny Unitas - Colts

here are the numbers of current LSU guys in the NFL:
Allen, Kenderick (99) New Orleans Saints DT
Danny Boyd (5) San Franciso 49 'ers P
Clark, Ryan (39) New York Giants DB
Davey, Rohan (6) New England Patriots QB
Davis, Domanick (37) Houston Texans RB
Faneca, Alan (66) Pittsburgh Steelers T
Faulk, Kevin (33) New England Patriots RB
Faulk, Trev (57) St. Louis Rams (LB) off and on
Green, Howard (95) New Orleans Saints DT
Green, Jarvis (97) New England Patriots DE
James, Bradie (56) Dallas Cowboys LB
James, Tory (26) Cincinnati Bengals CB
Kennison, Eddie (87) Kansas City Chiefs WR
Kinchen, Brian (46) New England Patriots I dont think he is on roster still.
LeBlanc, Clarence (35) New York Giants DB
LeJeune, Norman (27) Philadelphia Eagles DB
Mawae, Kevin (68) New York Jets C
McClure, Todd (62) Atlanta Falcons C
McFarland, Anthony (92) Tampa Bay Buccaneers NT
Mixon, Kenny (79) Minnesota Vikings DE
Price, Marcus (73) Buffalo Bills T
Reed, Josh (82) Buffalo Bills WR
Richey, Wade (9) Baltimore Ravens K I think he was cut....
Roman, Mark (20) Cincinnati Bengals FS
Royal, Robert (86) Washington Redskins TE
Toefield, LaBrandon (22) Jacksonville Jaguars RB
Walker, Denard (26) Minnesota Vikings CB
Wiley, Chuck (94) Minnesota Vikings DE
Winey, Brandon (68) Washington Redskins T

looks like 29 total if Trev, Brian Kinchen and Wade Richey make a roster in upcoming season. I looked a few times...almost overlooked Danny Boyd. Didn't realize he was on a roster nor do I think Richey is on any team but not sure.

So we should have 5 or so more after the draft.

I like #21...the number of possibly the greatest RB in Louisiana history (LSU
    & N.O. Saints), Dalton Hilliard.
