I find it hard to believe that they would play and conference games after the SECCG. Has this ever been done? It's possible that we could play Tenn two weeks in a row.
That is usually true but Cat 4/5 storms are more organized and symmetrical where both sides are pretty bad. But lets say the eye hits Beaumont, BR is about 185 miles from there. The eye of Kat basically crossed over Waveland and Pensacola is about 155 miles from there, and Pensacola did not receive much damage other than storm surge erosion and wind. I say lets see where we are at Friday morning before we worry too much more about it.
Winds are projected to 25 mph for Saturday dying down as the day ends. Where is it written in stone that 20 mph winds are "Do not enter Tiger Stadium" law?
They moved the ATM game to tonight. I don't see what would be wrong with pushing it back until Sunday.
I have a feeling that the debacle in New Orleans has everyone gun shy and panic by the "authorities" could cause the game to be cancelled, moved, ppd or whatever. I think its BS but an over reaction is a very real possibility.
I'm starting to feel that someone is REALLY against LSU football this season, lol. Maybe this is the ONLY way USC can make sure a "three-pete" happens... Of course, I have to put this disclaimer in for the sensitive ppl out there. There are much worst implications and scenarios associated with a powerful hurricane than not playing football. But then again... Has this ever happened before? I mean hell, it's not like hurricanes are new to the Southeast, thus the SEC...
I think the biggest problem no matter where it hits is that Tennessee plans on flying in on Saturday morning. As of right now thats when the Rita will be coming in. The reason the game will be cancelled will be that Tennessee can't get in.
Yep, and thats what tinysee fans are echoing right now. I dont look at other schools messageboards all that much but I just took a gander at the two tinysee boards I know of (voltalk & volchat) and it looks like they are trying to set us up to look bad because a decision hasnt been made. The only point I can see they are making is that Phatimus is planning on flying into BR on saturday morning, which could be some of the worst weather we will see in BR that day. Probably not a good idea. They need to either come in right before the game or tomorrow but then we have the same ole problem with where they stay. I'm starting to think the chance of this game being played is quickly evaporating.
