Sure. Hannity and Colmes is one of fox's big shows, and the one they always site when claiming to be "fair and balanced" Both Hannity and Colmes get the same time with each guest, and they try to have a conservative and liberal guest to discuss each issue. But what they don't tell you is that Sean Hannity is one of the executive producers of the show, and picks the issues and guests. So he finds the most outrageous example of liberal extremisim, and then finds a liberal guest who is usually overmatched, then he shouts them down when they do make a point. ex: they covered the NY gov. for the majority of their show for a week, talked about Vitter for one segment of 2 shows. Fair and balanced? not hardly. Catering to the neo-cons? yup.
Neoconservatism emphasizes foreign policy as the paramount responsibility of government, seeing the American role of world's sole superpower as indispensable to establishing and maintaining global order http://www.lewrockwell.com/dmccarthy/dmccarthy14.html
Really - cause I'd say Fox is RIDICULOUSLY right wing and I'm certainly no Liberal. This (TV, that is) all started with CNN's decision to compete against the networks and MSNBC and others by blatently establishing an editorial slant. From that moment on, it's become far less about the news and far more about the Spin that tugs at the emotions and sells the advertising. If you don't think that CNN, MSNBC, and the three networks are Liberally biased in their editorial execution, you aren't paying attention. Same goes for Fox - hugely Conservatively biased. Newspapers - same game. You only have to read what you want to believe - and they're happy to provide it for you.
NY Times leans to the center? Oh brother! The Times is one of the most liberal newspapers in the country.
I do not think the media is honest about the weather as there is a lot of misinformation and bias in global warming (I'm not trying to get Red started, I promise).
I completely agree. I'm not sure of the reason - perhaps there is a psychological reason for why people with liberal views often go into media, but my guess is it just a culture that has been created over time.
