I thought the downward spiral began after they took Daniel Francis off the field. The team did not respond well afterwards. Just my opinion.
How many of JR's passes were accurate yesterday using NFL standards? Extremely few in my opinion. He has the size and strength to play in the NFL. I just really question if he has the football IQ, accuracy, and leadership to pull it off.
first 2 actually. he had both if i remember correctly but quit. then ate tebows stiff arm and rode him like a clydesdale. :hihi: :hihi:
No I am a LSU Fan born in Baton Rouge , I hope it will not be a loss to the Vols !! But the Vols did play a better game than we did !! This is the same team in a lot of ways , as last years team . This team should be better !! Geaux Tigers !!
Arron Brooks, I mean JR will get Miles fired just like AB got Haslett fired. His record against the top SEC teams (Auburn, Tenn, Florida,Georgia) is horrible. 2004 Auburn loss 10-9 --8-19-1 td Georgia loss 45-16 --9-17-1 int Florida win 24-21 --2 int (2 int inside own 25 yd line--M Randell comes in and wins game) Iowa loss 12-15 2005 Tennessee loss 30-27 --14-27-1 td Florida win 21-17 --14-22-2 td-2 int Auburn win 21-17 --16-33-1 int Georgia loss 34-14 --11-19-1 int 2006---Auburn loss---Florida loss---Since 2004 in 10 games against top SEC teams he is 3 wins 7 losses. TIME FOR MATT FLYNN
Xkp, He didn't start the Auburn, Georgia or Iowa game in 2004 and doesn't get an L for those. Iowa is also not in the SEC. However, he does get credit for the Florida win even though he was terrible and didn't help us come back. He's basically 2-5 against Florida, Auburn, Tenn. & Georgia. He won a big one against a good Bama team last year. So he's basically 3-5 against (at the time) ranked SEC teams. It's not too good, but not quite as bad as you make it out. Don't forget about how he saved us against Oregon State either. He doesn't get credit for that one outside of the conference. However, I would like to see Matt Flynn at least get some plays in when our O just can't take the ball in for a score...surprise the other team.
Well listening to what some of the people supposidly in the know on Pro Football have to say on the sports Radio shows here in Houston is JR has a ton of talent but also some issues the scouts don't like. Big Arm but consensus is he can't control it yet. Still rockets ten yard pass bullets making them very hard to catch. Big in General size wise but not very mobile. Puts receivers in bad positions to get ball. Will not translate well to the NFL receiving core. Very poor decision making skills in critical games and situations. Still they love him and could possibly be a 1st round pick if he doesn't shoot himself in foot (see statement just above). Couple years as a back up for someone could give him time to learn and better his skills in the NFL. Again these are not my comments just what has been talked about in the past by some the sports media that are really tied in to the NFL. B
I think he will be a better quarterback in the NFL with his style and his strengths play to that. I never thought Vince Young would be effective in the NFL because his strength was running and that ain't gonna happen in the pros. The speeds of the defenses and the injuries.
Oh how you conveniently leave off the Tough win at Bama last year, and those 2 TD's against Iowa that should have given us the come back. And again, none of those losses came as a result of JR. He didn't give up 45 points to UGA in 04. So you can't blame him for any of those losses. And if your only reason for wanting Flynn to start is the Miami thrashing, that game was a pounding in every aspect. He only managed the game.
