Is Ole Miss (football) really top 5?

Don't think history plays no part at all, some teams know when they are supposed to lose. Also a team used to loosing is happy with an occasional surprise win and will celebrate a week or two too long. Ole Siss always has been and always will be LSU's bitch even if they do rise up every now and then and challenge for the West. History has a way of repeating itself.

    For what it is worth...

Ole Miss Road SEC Games 2009
    South Carolina
    Vanderbilt
    Auburn
    Miss State

    Home SEC Games

    Bama
    Ark
    Tenn

No non conference games that look challenging. I say they have a pretty favorable schedule.

Ole Miss will be good until Nutt burns through Orgeron's talent.

I think Arky fans did find that acceptable although barely. If it weren't for his off the field bungles the last couple of years he would probably still be hanging on by a thread. The combination of the two were more than even the piggies could take.

    um, top 5..I hope

We have a long way to go. We won 6 games in a row but I just don't know yet. The talent level on this team is as good as it has been in a long time and we are returning like 19 starters. You will never know until the ball is snapped.

EDIT: But like I have been saying, This Season could be very spacial....

i hate to say it but ole miss will give LSU trouble as long as houston nutt is there. That dude knows how to beat LSU.

but, i do think the will finally "live up to the hype" their fan base gives them.

Hardy returns but Oher and Jerry and gone. I think they'll be pushing the limits for the West, but as history shows, one slip and it's over. But the more I think about it, going 0-fer and then having a good season after that is a bit of a stretch for a top 5 team. Regardless of returning players

first of all unlike some of our losses last year we were never in the ole miss game we got whipped. secondly had ole miss started the season better they would have been in the title game, they absolutely handled texas tech and i knew they would...thirdly they have enough on offense and that d-line is going to be very good.Ole Miss could beat anyone in the country...i think they are definately top 10 even more so than LSU and we will be preseason top ten. but LSU should beat them now that laurel and hardy are'nt calling the defense anymore....

I think you're getting a tad overzealous with this assessment of Ole Miss. They lost some major players on the lines, and while they have arguably the best QB in the conference, it takes more than that to run through the SEC.

I still can't wrap my mind around them being THAT great, after going 0-fer in the conference the year before. Nutt is an upgrade @ coach, though he's only been on the fringes of being super-successful in the past.

That TT game was in question well into the 3rd quarter before it became apparent that Ole Miss would win. But TT is a pretender in the college football race year after year, putting up gaudy offensive stats, but never being able to close the deal. Have they even ever won the Big 12 South?
