I think top five is a big stretch. Possibly even top ten. Potential is there.. but every team sees "potential.":thumb:

That reads almost like I posted it. (except for the result part) I think OM could win, but I would be surprised if by the same type margin.:)

No one thought they were "vastly overrated" until after the game. Ask Texas. It was supposed to be the worse mis-match of the bowl season. Well, on second thought, I guess it was.

But it's Ole Miss and they still have a lot to prove to me as far as consistency from year to year.

    ME TOO !!!!!!!!!

Maybe not as far as national punditry is concerned, but SEC fan saw right through the fraud of the Big XII. Texas barely scraped by OSU in the waning seconds. And we all know how big of a fraud OSU is. :D

Ole Miss could well win the West even if LSU wins the head-to-head matchup based on their very favorable schedule. LSU and Bama are the toughest teams they will play all season, both at home. The question will be whether Snead's supporting cast shows up on offense throughout the season.

I hate Ole Miss. First and foremost. But they do have a strong team and a good coach. Snead is a great QB and they have a good running back who's young. The secondary isn't all that bad, either. I would, though, love to see them have another 0-for season in the SEC

maybe so, but the first thing that i thought of was that they beat UF last season, not the TTU game.

top five isn't too farfetched IMO. it is PRESEASON polls that we're talking about. i also think that they're a legit SEC team. they should be competing for the SEC title for SURE. anytime you have a team good enough to win the league, top five rankings aren't too unrealistic. whatever happened in the last 40 years is irrelevant IMO. the fact of the matter is that their coach is good. arkansas just proved their stupidity by canning the guy. snead is a gamer. they ALWAYS show up to play against LSU. i could list several reasons why they would be deserving of a top five ranking, but the fact that they're a legit SEC team should be enough.
