They're rather big. But we don't like to talk about it. It's one of the keys to his bedevilment of LSU...he can hear your coaches deciding on the next play and relays it to the defense. We'd like to keep the advantage.
I think it stems from the fact that nearly every pre-season publication has Auburn winning the West--and us finishing 2nd. Consider that we do feel pretty confident in the talent we have, and our team's ability to get back to Atlanta and a BCS bowl for the 2nd time in 3 years, while I can't speak for all, in my opinion, Auburn has that "bullseye" on ya'll backs. True, you should take the games one at a time--and not over-look anyone. But that's for the guys on the field and calling the plays to remember. As fans, we have the previledge of looking forward (and in most cases, "beyond") games that preceed. I, for one, (and it's my personal opinion) believe, that while Auburn fields a VERY good team, they are over-rated to be considered top 5--especially from a team that really didn't live up to expectations last season (after their good start). So, in my eyes, the reflection of the initials "AU" ingulfed in flames, can be seen. Last season, just as this one, I firmly believe we have a team capable of beating anyone in the SEC. Last year's game was an embarrassment and should not have happened considering the talent we had. Not saying that we would had the better team last year (because, judging from the outcome, that was not the case), but we were better than the drubbing the scoreboard showed. To sum it up in one word: "Redemption" :lsug:
Arkys yell Sooie Pig because their nickname is the pigs (well, Razorbacks but that's a pig). Bammers yell Roll Tide because their nickname is the Crimson Tide. Tigers is our nickname and we have a big ole Tiger in a cage and we yell Geaux Tigers. Tigers is your nickname and you have a golden eagle on a glove. You should call yourselves the eagles and yell War Tiger!
The eagle is one of our mascots and the battle cry evolved from that. The point is, we've always been the Tigers. Period. End of story. North Carolina has a ram as a mascot, but they are the Tarheels. Army is the Cadets but they have a mule. This is a common occurence in college football history. Auburn just held on to that tradition while some other schools who used to have similar traditions didn't.
one word why auburn is talked about overrated. that about sums it up, you guys are way overrated. the medias practically given you the SEC. I know you have no way to know, but thats what its like when you're the hunted. don't worry it will all be over NEXT WEEK. hahaha
Yet, he continues to win national collegiate mascot championships (2002 being the most recent). That tiger costume of yours looks like it was rode hard and put up wet. Stick with Mike.
"When you see men and women shedding tears during the Tiger Walk, that is what college football is all about...football in the South is one thing, football at Auburn is something else." One question, are they crying before or after the game.......
