Actually your facts are a bit off, there are 3 including this one, which was posted by an Auburn fan. So that makes 2. Take the Score one where almost everyone of us said we will be rooting for Auburn, that tosses that one out and leaves 1. Do yourself a field trip and visit autigers.com a few times. You will understand. There is a stark difference between here, places like tidefans.com and that place.
Because Auburn fans come up with stupid questions like your's. We're talking about Auburn because Auburn is allegedly the best team on our schedule. If Auburn was supposed to be a mediocre team, we wouldn't be talking about the game.
Let's end this thread with the answer that Proud (but not a real)Tiger really wants: We are obsessed with Auburn because they are the best team in the country and they have the best coach in the country and they have the best running backs in the country and they're going to be the undefeated national champion and we're jealous.
I think if you'll go back and reread the entire thread from which you pulled that post, you'd find that everyone else saw LSU going anywhere from 8-5 to 10-3. There might have even been an 11-2 in there somewhere. And almost everyone saw the LSU game as the deciding factor in the West division race.
I have the right to hate any team I want, so I just hate Auburn,big deal.............................. It's kind of interesting reading the above posts. Some comment; 1. All schools have some nasties who post on their boards. Don't judge us all by them/ 2. All schools have obnoxious fans who are both poor losers AND winners. Don't judge all the school's fans by them. 3. I can understand your dislike of Tuberville based on history and what you "see." I wasn't a big fan of him for ahile either. Then I got to know him and talk to him one on one on a couple of occasions. He is really a decent guy, the type of coach I would like my son to play for. But lacking that up close knowledge of him, I understand where some of you are coming from. Anyhow, I am coming down for the game on Oct. 25. My first trip there. I've always wanted to come down for a game but just never have. Wish I could meet up with some of you, bend an elbow, and talk some smack.
Golden Tiger...I do understand. We all have some teams we just don't like. I'm an old war horse who who was listening to an LSU-Ole Miss game on Halloween night in 1957 (I think) when Billy Cannon ran the punt back to win. I loved it and have always liked LSU. I think in a lot of cases we like or dislike schools based on the people we know who went ther. I have a lot of good LSU friend and lots of relatives around new Orleans so to me it is just a good rivalry.
I just really like that this game between our schools has become a good rivalry..........Most Auburn fans that come to this board seem to be ok people........but this is the game of the year to me. Don't get me wrong, I do dislike your team, but I won't attack you because of it.........
Well, to answer your rather uninformed questions: --"Tigers" is, and has always been, our official nickname. --"War Eagle" is a battle cry. Just as Arkansas says "Woo, Pig. Suey!" or Alabama says "Roll Tide". No one accuses them of being the Suey Pigs or Roll Tides. --Our fight song is "War Eagle". "Glory, Glory" is just a song in our repetoire. Besides, someone could make a similarly ill-informed accusation about you and "Hold That Tiger (Tiger Rag)". You share that one with us and Clemson and no telling who else. Got anything else for me?
