Titan tiger, your team is highly touted; hence, all the conjecture. Next year, I believe you are right, the media will be blowing sunshine up our ass much the same way AU is recieving it this year. The year after that it will probably be some one else. Alas, with the departure of Spurrier the SEC needed someone to really hate. Tubby fills the void for now. I kind of like the rivalry as it is getting heated now. Personally, I hope whoever is up when the LSU/AU is on runs the the other team into the ground. It is good to hate/dislike your rivals. That's what SEC football is about.
Unless it was done spontaneously by a group of players. Then the best he could do is run over there and break it up after the fact. I'll also say, without knowing for sure which players were involved, the quality of individuals (on a character level) has skyrocketed the last few years with Tuberville's recruits versus Bowden's. Like father like son I guess. True...but if the scenario I described is correct, would you still consider that flaunting/taunting? I think what got the bammers all in a dither was that Peyton climbed up on the conductor's ladder stand and "conducted" the UT band in "Rocky Top" himself. Or it could be that they are bammers and that is an explanation in and of itself.
You're right. AUTigers.com is a very inhospitable place. I've heard the worst stories about LSU fans, but I've never actually been to Tiger Stadium. The worst football fans I've actually witnessed would have to be Old Piss fans. Ok. I'm not familiar with his treatment of LSU while at Old Piss. He pasted you guys pretty bad in 1999, but I didn't remember him running the score up. Didn't the fake field goal thing come in the first half?
If you've never seen tiger stadium come to the AU game in Baton Rouge. You will see what all the hype is about. It will be like a carnival that week.
Nope he had the QB fake a knee then jumped up and scored again. It was a disgrace. Although we were all cheering for Saban to do when LSU was taking Auburn to the woodshed in 2001 on its way to a SEC title. Saban simply took a knee on and went on. Although I must admit Tubby seems to have changed his ways a bit. He could have easily run up the score last year and didn't. I still dont like him but he seems to be a different type coach over the last year....
I don't think we are fixated on Auburn but we do not like you too much(Well I guess this is how I feel). I don't have anything against the university itself but old Tubby I hate. I mean this guy is classless. From the way he left Ole Miss to the things he has done in the games with LSU. He runs up scores of games and acts classless all the time. I have to admit though he has done less of this lately.
I will say this about running up the score. I dont have a problem with it to be honest. THe way I see it, if you dont like stop it. My problem with Tubbs is how he did it, the whole fake a knee thing. That was classless. But as far as running up the score. I was hoping Saban would have run up the score on Auburn. Not because I dont like Tubby, because his team should never come off the gas until the clock reads 0:00. PLay your game till the final whistle, if the other team does not like. Play Defense. But that is me I guess.
so what makes us any different from them?? if you going to dislike them for making fun of their cheif rival then you might as well dislike us talking about them so much. Just my honest opinion about it not meant dog anyone. and there is 3 topics discussing Auburn on our first page all of which somebody dogs Auburn for something.
The Media is building it up as one of the "Top 5" games this season, provided both teams are winning. I am more concerned with Georgia at this point. Here is something one of your guys posted on aunation yesterday: aupcolatiger "I have a good friend that is an LSU fan, and he doesn't expect much this year. He thinks 7-5 is about right. I tend to agree with him. LSU lost their top two RB's, QB is inconsistent, and they lost their leader on defense in Bradie James. All this, i don't expect much from LSU. I think they will finish 3rd in the west." Not many LSU fans thinks we are going to finish 7-5. While losing Bradie certainly doesn't help, being dismissive of our Running Game is a mistake. Addai, Carey you know a little about. Take a closer look....When we play Auburn, you will see 1 or 2 of these guys: Justin Vincent http://www.fansonly.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?pr_key=1854&Sport=1 Alley Broussard http://www.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?pr_key=7202&Sport=1 Barrington Edwards http://www.fansonly.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?pr_key=8424&sport=1 Yes, we lost Davis & Toefield, but does it look like we are lacking at the RB position? And we will sign 1 or 2 RBs in 2004. Point being Auburn really doesn't know what to expect from LSU at RB.
