NMTiger- I think you may have lost a few brain cells @ Los Alamos- this is why everything seem harder- either that or you drank so much the first time around you didin;t notice how hard it was!

Our poli sci depeartment is ranked 74th in one of the polls, but a lot higher in all the other rankings. Our best is 19th, and the most accurate is the one that has us 27th.

I can't say much about other departments, but I have a degree in Computer Engineering and worked for ISDS for 2 years while studying. The EE department was modeled after MIT's curriculum in terms of credit hours and course material. However, from a cursory glance at MIT's EE department homepage, several differences stand out immediately. They have one class which covers 3 separate semester classes at LSU and 3 separate subjects. I cannot imagine, after LSU's workload, how I would have been able to succeed as a full-time student at MIT. (maybe taking six hours)

MIT's EE department and CS department are linked (EECS). At LSU, EE and CS are in two different colleges (engineering and basic sciences). The CS professors hate engineering students because we have to take fewer prereqs to start the same advanced cs courses that the cs majors have to take. Also, the CS degree is unaccredited!!!

ISDS is a complete joke. The teachers have a theoretical grasp of information technology as it applies to business administration, but you won't find too many hands-on programming, networking, or database administration type of classes at LSU.

If I'm not mistaken, I believe that UNOs EE program is superior to LSUs, and one of the best in the country.

I'm an LSU ChemE, so don't go there.
