Tirk, I know you like Miles the man, but you don't like Miles the coach. Speaking from a strickly bidness standpoint.
Actually, I was off by one game. It is not six as you state though. You are probably counting vacated games from 2007. Alabama only has three more regular season SEC wins than LSU in the past three seasons. 17 vs 14. 2007: 1 2008: 8 2009: 8 As compared to LSU: 2007: 6 2008: 3 2009: 5
Miles gets paid plenty to take the heat. Some of it is quite silly and some fans just don't want him to coach here so they will whitewash his accomplishments. But he could quiet the (some)critics by simply fielding better prepared teams and winning big games again. If he doesn't his legacy will be tarnished forever. If he does, he will still probably catch sh!t from a segment of the fans. But most of those guys are unrealistic anyway so what can you do about that? Miles should not be(and probably isn't) too worried about criticism in lieu of the past 2 yrs. Right now he has to take it.
While I support Miles and look forward to this season, the above comment says it all. For four million dollars a year, there is no way I can ever say that he is being treated unfairly by being criticized by those who are not satisfied. Want to see unfair? Step into offices around campus and talk to people making average salaries yet doing more work than ever due to budget cuts. Miles being treated unfairly? No way. Not possible.
Still valid. Plus the original time frame was the last 2 years, because it was said the last 2 years were mediocre.
Oh, I see. You choose to accept the Bama fan's spin and use the last two years like he chooses to. Got it.
Correct. A. That's when our downturn started B. The fact that Bama players bought textbooks for friends doesn't change anything
