Given that many consider the answer to be of "Biblical proportions" I would say, it's not unfair. "The one people put in charge of much, they will certainly demand more than usual of him." To be a 4 mil. coach at a powerhouse SEC school, He's got his hands full, no matter what the record. On top of that!

The Minuses: Incredible recent success, the likes of which most excellent programs never see. Expectations are higher then they ever could be.

The Pluses: A willingness to make changes. Incredible talent.

The solution: No way Miles can go three straight years as a SEC mediocre team. This year, unlike any Miles has experienced, it's going to get even more demanding.

    The answer:

Yes. He has obvious and identifiable weaknesses.. but which coach does not? I've been overly harsh on him before and I see other reasons for his problems that lay outside of the realm of coaching..

He's a hands-off type of coach. That much is obvious. His major issues have been in hiring poor assistants.. if he fixes that, we're back to 2006-2007.

Since when is #3 in the SEC with losses to two top-5 teams mediocre?

what is it that you dislike about chavis' style? honest question. i would prefer he be a little more adamant about players wrapping guys up than trying to lay a big hit to get on sportscenter, but as long as he stops the other team from scoring, i think it's an acceptable style of defense.

i guess i just can't really find a reason to rag on our defense when the offense is so utterly pathetic.

When I think a little less of Les and his status at LSU I just think of the word "Archallnardo" and all is well.

Is he being treated unfairly? Absolutely. He brought some of it on himself with the Ole Miss debace, but He also gets criticism for things other coaches do. All the 4th down gambles that so many say were bad ideas? In the National Championship game, Saba went for it on 4th and long way in his own end of the field, and no one even blinked.

And don't say it's cause they won, because Miles got blasted on ESPN et.al in 2007 for the Fla and Auburn games, both wins.

Cholly Mac had to deal with Coach Bryant.

Les Miles had to deal with Mike Shula and three years of serious probation. Les Miles can't speak to 10 years of this rivalry.

Besides, history is a long rope if you want to hang on tight.
