    Not exactly.

    Total offense: Auburn = 182 yards --- LSU = 311 yards

    Total offense: Florida = 288 yards --- LSU = 318 yards

LSU has moved the football offensively against all opponents. Auburn outscored LSU by 4, Florida outscored LSU by 13 after LSU gave up 14 points to two special teams fumbles.

It's not the 35 points anyone is complaining about. It's scoring 35 on a team that you should have scored 50 on. The problem with that? That same offensive deficiency that prohibited us from scoring more than 35, will carry over to our tough opponents if not addressed. Yes, you can afford to have these deficiencies against lowly opponents and still blow them out by a fairly comfortble margin, but have those same problems with the big boys and you'll come out on the short end of the stick.

While those are good offensive numbers, the inability to score TD's hurts as well. I'd like to see maybe more no-huddle in big games because I believ we can move the ball if the coaches instill a sense of urgency. I guess our offense is maybe not as good as we thought against very good D's. If we play conservative(Aub) we lose, if we air it out more (UF) we commit more TO's and lose. It's hard to blame Jimbo, because it really just comes down to execution. The coaches job is to put the players in positions to win, but the players win and lose the games.

I'll tell you my source and you take it for what it's worth...you know the Chevron station - Interline @ Airline - that's owned by Chico (this is the place that used to have the old LSU Cadillac out front forever). Anyway, Chico's next door neighbor happens to be Jimbo. And according to Chico, Jimbo is not calling the plays.

if you recall, I said it certainly looked like jimbo's gameplan for the first time against UF in conference this year and you and others told me Jordy interviewed les during pregame saying he's giving the reigns to jimbo for that game.

thats the jimbo fisher playbook and i knew as i was watching it.

obvious to me for most of the gameplans with a hint of jimbo once we fall behind.

jimbo never knew or uttered the words stack-I formation before last year upon les' arrival.

    Quick question.
I wasn't a member yet, so what was everyone's take on Jimbo in let's say '01 when Rohan and Reed were breaking single game records @ BAMA. Or later that year when we set Sugar Bowl scoring records? If Josh Reed had the best statistical season any receiver in the history of the SEC has ever had, does that mean Jimbo knew how to call plays then? Did he forget since then?
Jimbo does have 2 SEC titles and a MNC. One of those SEC title games was wo with a freshman back-up QB getting his first real playing time. Look at it like this:
Barring a defensive collapse @ Arky in '02 and an extra-point redo @ Auburn in '04, LSU would be 5-time defending WEST champs right now. Notice, in both instances we fell short were defense/special teams, that let us down with the game on the line.

I can tell you this, it isnt because we have less talent. You decide what's left.

and for what it's worth Jimbo was here before, so I wouldn't necessarily look in that direction.

You have to look at the offense for the entire game, not just end of the game scenerios. Under Fisher we've had good offense... 2001, 2003. 2004-2006 nothing exceptional. 2002, mediocre... 2000, rebuilding.... We've also had excellent defense to keep us in most games even when our offense wasn't making plays. The guy is well respected, so it's either we don't get the talent, we don't develop the talent, or we can't keep up with the defensive talent in the SEC.

Hell, I've come to the realization that most teams most years leave something to be desired. So we're dreaming, we want LSU to be perfect. We're living in a pipe dream with no reference to reality. But it's a good dream. So I'll keep on dreaming and keep pushing for LSU to reach perfection. A consistent offense with the defense we have = 2003 every year. Almost unbeatable. We don't need a freakish offense, we just need a steady one. Freakish is nice if it can work, though.
