I agree with, "The Toe". The only game we really looked conservative was against Auburn. It is hard to measure scores of teams we faced vs. different opponents.....

To me, the sign that we donimated is that on the last play or the last couple of plays is a QB Kneel Down. As being a Youth Football Coach, that is my favorite play to call!!!

That's makes me very excited. Holliday possesses the type of speed that will make for some thrilling runs.

For the most part, every response to this thread has some valid points in them. This weekend's game should tell us a lot.

Our defense was never in question, no need to mention it. This thread is strictly about offense.

    "N Carolina A&T hangs 48 on ULL"

If it makes you feel any better UL hung 48 on North Carolina A&T, not the other way around.

Im not saying be one-dimensional, but when you struggle running the ball, it would be wise to use the pass to open up the run (i.e. Pats on MNF) instead of stacking the line of scrimmage with TEs and a FB and trying to run up the gut. I know we can't throw the ball 50 times in the SEC and expect to win. You have to be able to run the ball in the SEC to be successful. Defenses are too good. That's why I have been saying all year that if we come out firing and score quickly, then we can dictate the game instead of the other team dictating to us what we can and can't do.

i found it relevant because if you cant trust your defense to hold the other team, then you need to put up 68 points. we have the luxury of being able to jump out to a reasonable lead and agaisnt most teams, it is very safe crusing from there out.

Well, when Saban was here, Jimbo took a lot of heat about the offense and it was much the same things that are being said about our offense now.

2 head coaches....same gripes about the offense.

I wouldn't argue against anyone saying that the blame lies on Jimbo....unless, of course, you have 2 head coaches that share the same opinion as to what kind of offense they like their teams to run? ..but at OSU, Miles had some good running backs (Morency and Tatum Bell--both of whom are in the NFL) as well as an All-American WR (Woods) and even though there wasn't much else in terms of All-American talent at OSU, Miles' offense there seemed to play more aggressively than what our offense has done.

i doubt he had the defense we have. nevertheless, i think this team should try to attack first, come out throwing a little bit(not neccessarily risky), just getting players in the open field, doucet, davis, or holliday on screens or bubbles would be nice and then just play off the defense, jamarcus has the arm, if they squat in, run out, if they backpedal, run comebacks, squat outside, run slants. keep it simple but do air it out a little and RUN THE DRAW!
