Man, I hope JR stays but here is his theme song after we beat ND in the Sugar Bowl:
Here is what he said about the decision to go to the NFL. Nothing more than we already know. How Russell plays against Notre Dame quarterback Brady Quinn could determine where each goes in the NFL draft next spring should Russell leave LSU a year early, which some NFL draft experts believe he will do. "When this game is over, I'll sit down and talk to coach and my parents about how things end up," Russell said. "We'll get feedback from the evaluation sheet. But right now, my focus is on winning the game." According to NFL Draft expert Mike Detillier, Russell and Quinn are top 10 first round picks going into the game. Detillier expects Quinn to be the first quarterback selected at the moment. "Unless Russell does something like Vince Young did against Matt Leinart last year in the Rose Bowl," Detilier said. http://www.shreveporttimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20061229/SPORTS0202/612290305/1028
I hope JR does go pro and I think him for his time at LSU! I have nothing against him and he is one heck of a football player but I just would like to see what our other QB's can do. I can NEVER recall us being this stacked at QB. Maybe Saban will draft him and we can see the Dolphins turn in to the LSU Tigers of the south and win next years Sugarbowl OH I mean Superbowl!
Right now they say Quinn will go first then JR. Even if JR blows away Quinn this wednesday, I think that Detriot will still take Quinn. I expect JR would go to the Raiders since they Brooks is obviously not the answer. With that said I think he goes, even tho I hope he sticks around for title run.
Hey, Bengal Buddy! I'll be amazed too. I think he's gone after a great Sugar Bowl as a Top Draft Pick. But I'm hoping Les can keep him at LSU one more year. If he stays, LSU will have a great shot at a 2007 :crystal:
