JaMarcus played today against Jacksonville, from the look of the box score, it was a ROOKIE outing. Raider msg. board sounds like they know he's a rookie, they didn't get on him too hard.

    J. Russell 7/23 yds=83 avg yds=3.6 TD=1 Int=3

I didn't get to see the game but I was reading the play by play. It looks like they just called random plays with no concern for the situation by reading it. On one series, He completed a 12 yard pass on first down, then Rhodes gained 3, lost 1, and lost 1 on consecutive plays. IDK for sure but by the looks of it they were just letting him run the offense with little care as to what was actually going on. He did have a 22 yard run on 3rd and 6 that was negated by a penalty, and threw his first touchdown pass late in the fourth quarter. Three ints looks bad on paper, but it looks like this was just his "this is what the NFL is about" game.

I don't know why they haven't let him play more this season. It is clear he is the starter for next year and they haven't had anything to play for for three weeks or more. You would think they would have wanted him to get as much experience as possible.

Well, he didn't do very well against our Jags yesterday. They ran into a buzzsaw. With all do respect to JaMarcus, the Jags have been playing some very good football as of late. That win yesterday got us in the playoffs again. The defense really made him look like a rookie. He for sure had his bright spots. But the Raiders as a whole have a long way to go to get competitive. If they're smart they'll build that team around him. He's gotta have time to develop though. I'll always pull for him to do well, which I think he will, but I remember talking to one of Jags a few years ago. He said that the one thing that makes the NFL so much different than college is speed The transition from HS to College to Pro is all about that. Thats one of the reasons option plays rarely work in the NFL. In college you've got some fast guys here and there, but in the pros everyones fast. I sure the Raiders will be a contender again soon and I believe JaMarcus is just the man they need behind center to get them there.
