I've authorized the Franklin Mint to find the finest sculpter in Rome to come to LSU and create two statues: a Bronze Bust of Nick Saban in the Quad, and another full sculpture of Nick Saban after the National Championship victory, standing on a six-headed snake who's heads are Pete Carrroll, Trev Alberts, Curley Hallman, Keith Jackson, Lester Earl, and Lou Tepper. I've called the President and demanded that Jan. 4 be proclaimed a National Holiday known as LSU day. I've also written gov. Blanco and demand that she step down immediately and make room for Nick, and redo the mansion again, this time with an LSU theme! My home still has purple and gold lights up from before Christmas - I will take a picture and post it to prove. I may never take them down
Not to horn in on all the fun, but it sure has been fun watching you LSU fans this season. Rarely have I seen a fanbase enjoy an NC with such enthusiasm. What a great experience to be able to share with future generations of CFB fans. Geaux Tigers and Go Tigers !
18 days later I am still on a high!!! I can compare it to only two experiences I've had. One was when the Houston Rockets won their first championship in '94. The other was when I made my first and only hole-in-one (NOT putt-putt or mini-golf!) in 1989. I got incredible highs from those two events, but LSU winning the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP this year is at least a THOUSAND times better!!!!!!
So Switch over to LSU. Come over to our side! Trade your dull navy blue and orange for the Bold Purple and Gold! The Louisiana Tigers have been outperforming the folks from your state since Gettysburg. After all, the Alabama troops failed to take Little Round Top, even though it was defended by one measly regiment from Maine. The Louisiana Tigers took Cemetary Hill SINGLE-HANDEDLY on the 2d day of Gettysburg. As the Alabama and Auburn boys were repulsed and running away from Little Round Top, the Union troops taunted them by singing: "We are the 20th Maine, we are so very few, we stood on Little Round Top and kicked the Hell out of you." :geaux: :lsug:
Hats, T-shirts, penants, mugs, coffee cups, miniature trophies..... How much more merchandise can I accumulate? Not to worry....it's a great way to contribute to the GDP!
I finally recieved my N.C gear in the mail yesterday. I had to throw dress shirts on the floor of the closet for good hangers to put my Sugar Bowl and N.C. t-shirts and sweats on them. As soon as it gets above freezing I'll put the bumper stickers on my vehicle. My Sugar Bowl ticket hangs in plain view as I type this and everytime I look up it sends memories of the game and season back to my brain. I am now waiting on the dvd of the game ( I have yet to see a replay ) so I can relive it in full screen surround sound. I spend more time reading these boards and following anything LSU football than I do about anything else except work. I have always loved LSU football and this past season is one I will remember the most. It is indeed good to be an LSU football fan.
I am still high after going to the Sugar Bowl.... But it's only because I scored a bag of some good sh*t from a guy in the quarter that weekend. LOL
