I’m on board. STs did enough to save McMahon’s job this week.

I am horrified by that stat. I had to go out to dinner tonight; I left home & LSU was up 21/zip. Felt that the final score was gonna be 66/3.
Then I came home to these reports of a lackluster/inconsistent/halfhearted D and I feel that we missed an opportunity to behave like the #1 team in the nation.

Why can we not perform like we are the #1 team in the nation?

Is there no pride of ownership?

Can only guess that they got a little too full of themselves. Make no mistake, our defense is not good and there is absolutely no explanation for it. We haven't lost that much talent from last year to this year for it to be that much of a difference.

Outside of the 1st drive by bama last week we shut them down in the 1st half. Got up by 20 and then let off the gas on both sides of the ball. I will never understand why coaches do this. The 1st half defense of last week gives me hope but we have to maintain that consistency. To date we have not been able to do that this year.

In the back of my mind I think the D doesn't play as hard because they rely on the offense to bail them out of any mistakes. I certainly hope that isn't true, I don't want it to be true and I can't imagine a football player with an ounce of pride ever thinking this way but I literally have nothing else. When we replace Greedy with DSjr and lose Devin White but other than that keep the core of that D from last year in tact how else do you explain the drop off?

Guys are definitely out of position and some seem to be over pursuing. What ever the reason, the middle third of the field appears to be defenseless lately. It's not a good look.
