Just a public service announcement. I don’t have Facebook, but some of you may. It would be worth it to circulate this analysis by Willis ... regarding Italy and why COVID19 is so bad. Basically, Only 3 patients in the sample of people who had died, 1%, were healthy. 1/2 had 3 or more health conditions, and 75% had 2 or more. The average age was 79 yrs old. Willis suspects, and I agree, that most of the deaths in Italy are due to people being infected in the hospital, what we in the healthcare profession call nosocomial infections. Thus, you go in for a heart attack, you catch COVID19, and die. As such, they distinguish between death “from” COVID19 and death “with” COVID19. This is why it is important to NOT run to the hospital unless you need to go to the hospital. You could go to the hospital with rhinovirus (common cold), and end up with COVID19. Further, we risk infecting our healthcare system as was done in Italy which is disastrous for people going to the hospital for legitimate reasons separate from COVID19. Worth the read. https://wattsupwiththat.com/2020/03/24/the-italian-connection/
We pay out way more than them just so you know, its a shell game. If you work for yourself and pay everything out of pocket your policy is a crazy amount. If you work for a corporate overlord they foot the bill some, you get the rest, and your base pay is lower due to this. They very much know what their taxes are for, lol
A lot of fear there. I don't think its all doom and gloom that you preach. But something has to change, I for one don't like that my health and what I can take is set by profit margins of an insurance company. For sure there is issues with the government running things, I agree with you there. But the shit is ass backwards atm, profit should not be driving health care.
Per person? No, not really. If you work for yourself, healthcare can be deducted 100% up to 7.5% of gross income. Same for corporations. All expenses, to include health care, basically are a tax break. In our system, it looks like more, but the reality is our large expenditure as a country is on Medicare etc.
Then you wont have advancements like we do now. Greed isn't ideal, but greed is why less people are poor today than in the early 1900's.
Really....show me the data and the source. If accurate good to know but why didn’t they start a month ago?
