1. Winston - why do you think the number of cases have risen exponentially the last few days? The tests are getting out there. They are going to the hardest hit areas first. 2. Hospitals are adding beds - thats been reported. And the ships are headed out to be there - even Carnival Cruise is offering ships for help 3. The public bought up the supplies and now the car factories will be manufacturing supplies - things don't happen overnight. The supplies are short in some areas do to being overwhelmed. You need to be realistic. And furthermore - this is why we are social distancing - because we are overwhelming the system I. some areas already and don't want that to happen in the whole country. Geez man. You need to lighten up a bit and figure out ways you can help instead of criticizing things you don't know about. PS - I work at a hospital system so get daily updates as to what is happening.

Where are they going to put them? The parking lots? Tents? Hospital ships are being put in place as a standby in case they are needed. And where would they get the extra doctors? A 2 week crash course to get an MD degree? 3. Things like masks and scrubs are kept in stock to meet normal needs. Our Lady of the Lake Hospital uses 250,000 masks in a normal year. Those are already gone. Hospital personnel are being taught how to make their own. I would think the manufacturers are ramping up production of essential itemsm. It takes time. Where are they going to get the extra raw materials to make them? China? Blaming Trump is unproductive. You are just spinning the same old wheels. What is happening nowcis completely and totally unprecedented. Nobody, and I mean nobody whether Dem or R would have been for sure to make the right decisions in advance. On my way home from the office yesterday afternoon, I passed near a mobile testing center on Shepard st in Houston. There must have been in excess of 1000 cars lined up for blocks. I don't know how many of those were actually sick people but I suspect it would take you several hours to make it through the line.

(Yet Winston seems to think that Trump should have looked into his crystal ball and foreseen the future and closed down the Nation). - The spread appears to be about a 2 mo timeframe. As of Today, March 20th, the spread of COVID19 in Washington State has significantly dissipated. This is also consistent with the China experience, started Dec 31st, and was pretty much done by the end of February. Italy cranked up the middle of February, and will likely wind down about the middle of April. NY cranked up around March 1st. So we are probably going to see a significant increase in cases until late April. Time frames will probably be shorter for less dense populated areas. - Conservatively speaking, based on Italy, the US will experience at most 19,000 deaths, but the more likely number will be around 4000 based on a 1.5% mortality rate in the US vs the 8% mortality rate in Italy.
