    so it wasnt?

should trump had claimed that things were at the time out of control?

on jan 22 he should have told the nation that things were out of control? after zero deaths and one case?

it annoys the shit out of me that the media uncritally reports that china has no new cases.

again, china will literally kill those with the facts that counter their lies. so you never have any idea if they are lying. you should assume that any news that casts them in a good light is very questionable.

Think about North Korea .... they have no cases of COVID19 .... because if you are diagnosed, you are shot on the spot! Bet they are just lined up to be tested.

Observing this tit for tat above it seems you all are more interested in making minor points to use as a foundation for a larger truth.
There is no debate that Trump wanted to minimize the threat of the Corona virus to the public. Now jmg and others say it was to prevent panic. Tiger in NC is focused on the falsehoods and misdirections Trump used to divert attention.

A more valid question is what substantive things did he do in the background to prepare? Did he listen to the scientific and medical community and ramp up the development of tests, research into treatment and vaccines? There’s no evidence he did anything but start to close the borders (a necessary action). He didn’t engage private enterprise like S Korea did to push test kits, ventilators and organize the healthcare system to prepare. He didn’t alert any government agency to prepare. Beyond closing the border he was completely ineffective until last weekend.

It’s not so much what he said but what he didn’t do.

    What didn’t he do Winston?

He instantly tried to ban travel from China and got called racist.

Every day there is a team built by him and directed by him giving orders and updates.

But ok, he hasn’t done anything.

But I guess you guys are ok with ruining more lives from a recession than from a virus.

i made no such claim. please stop lying. the dishonesty from you guys is startling.

my claim was that it was a lie to say that trump said the virus was a hoax. i was correct. i pushed the guy to admit i was correct.

    winston, now i ask you:

did trump say the virus is a hoax?
