there is no doubt the media has sensationalized this and that has caused some panic. i saw that same number last night somewhere but can't recall where it was. I think the fear right now, among medical professionals, is that we are probably 2-3 weeks from seeing how bad it really is in the US. We do not have enough tests to get an accurate picture right now of where we are with infections and that is causing more panic and fear. Financially, I agree that we are going to need to take unprecedented and extreme measures to keep us from falling into a deep recession. I think the financial measures being taken up by congress and the administration are a good indicator that they know how bad this is going to get before it gets better.
I read something by a guy in New Zealand. He dosesn't like the politics of the Prime Minister but praise her anyway for the way she is handling the virus and mentioned that all sides are putting political disagreements aside until the crisis is over. Do you think the Dems and the left wind media would ever say anything good about Trump? Even if he personally cured the virus.

The drug in Japan I read is an existing drug that is approved for human use already for flu patients. Which could fast track it through all the FDA stuff if so if it isn't already approved there. Usually they will do a handful of patients, make sure they don't die. And fast track approve the drug. The real question is how much is available, and how fast they can ramp it up. The supply chain matters so much here. It is a treatment, not a cure or vaccine. But still a solid piece of news.
So if you bothered to read real news you’d see that in fact democrat politicians have complimented Trump for his recent efforts. Gov Cuomo of NY said he’d had productive conversations with him and thanked him for his support. Just this morning Ithan Omar praised his initiative and what he’s doing. There are many more comments if you follow more than Fox.
