There is a fine line between informing the population and stoking panic. That said, let's be honest here about the initial response to all of this....we had Trump and the administration trying to tell us it was all a hoax and an attempt by democrats to hurt him politically and on the other hand we had a 24 hour news cycle pelting us with worst case scenarios and doom and gloom. At the same time that this was going on, we now know from the FBI that foreign influencers have been running social media campaigns specifically designed to highlight our differences and to stoke hatred between us. Neither the administration nor the media have done much to tamp this down....in fact, they have played right into the hands of those who would seek to divide us. Lately, there has been a much different tone from Trump and I have been impressed with his response over the past 2-3 days. It seems the media are falling in line.
I wish I could agree completely with you, ... but, last night on NBC Nightly News they were highlighting some study predicting that the US could see 2.2 Million deaths. The researcher kept telling the journalist, that “some” pockets are in bad shape, aka NY and WA, but the journalist kept pressing to say the worst outcome possible. Not probable, but possible In the end, we will look back and conclude that we’ve made a huge mistake, as the economic damage is going to dwarf the virus. If I were Trump, I’d call for closing the Exchange till March 30th which would eliminate one source of bad news. After all, there is not much going on in the economy anyway. Since the activity has paused, the trading should be paused as well.

Right. The media put Trump in a corner imo. I don’t believe that Trump thinks this is all that serious. The fear created started an uncontrolled chain reaction. Just my 2 cents.
We have effectively created our own recession for a virus that currently has 225k infections and 9.3k deaths GLOBALLY...... My point remains. We will put more people out of work than get sick.
