News Is coronavirus a wild card?

I would agree with you if not for the fact that Fauci should know better. Fauci is a politician first, ID MD second. He KNEW that a vaccine does not equal "not contagious", yet he supported and the political narrative, the bribe so to speak, that if you get a vaccine, you can go back to life as normal. He KNEW BETTER! (I KNOW he knew better because I used to teach this stuff, and I know what I taught!). The only reason he has "changed his mind" is because that approach has blown up in their faces. Vaccinated people, who btw, ARE contagious, are packing into high risk environments with no considerations for safe social behaviors, and it has caused a surge in cases. The Media was/is trying to run cover for it by saying the surge is due to the unvaccinated, but they know this is not the truth. ACTIONS speak louder than words, and the action is they are recommending the vaccinated observe safe social behaviors.

It took 20 years to eradicate smallpox. It is a complete irrational position to think that 330 million people can be vaccinated in just a few short months, and COVID go away. That being the reality, it will take a combination of safe social behaviors and vaccines to eliminate COVID. Unfortunately ... POLITICS GOT INVOLVED!! .... Any time Politics and the Media get involved with Science .... Science will LOSE every time!

 

Same fraud going on with so called "scientist" and politicians colluding on pushing this man made climate change agenda. The whole issue is a lie and these corrupt scientist and politicians have made a mockery of both science and politics for the sake of money, totalitarian agendas and power. Fauci has served with distinction under 6 US Presidents starting with Ronald Reagan. He was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by George W. Bush. I don't know where you get these wacko conspiracy theories. Are you a member of QAnon?

 

I agree with much of what you said about Fauci. However I think he’s been too much the bureaucrat for most of the pandemic. I understand that this was a novel virus and we had and still have much to learn. It seems to me he’s protecting himself too much at the expense of openness.
As to the conspiracy theories I agree with you. Too much of the right wing (not conservative) is batshit crazy with their claims.

 

Don't care what he did in the past only thing that means anything is what he is doing and not doing now.

Simple question for you two;

1. Is the vaccine FDA approved and safe and effective?
2. Does masking work?
3. Is the Covid vaccine experimental or approved?

 

1a) We all know that the vaccine has Emergency Use Authorization and is awaiting full approval. That is unquestioned.
1b) The overwhelming opinion of experts is that the vaccine is safe and effective. Not perfect. No medication is perfect. But the vaccine is safe and effective.
2) Do masks work 100%? No. Cloth masks are probably only 20% effective, but better than nothing.
3) While not fully approved, at this stage of the process I would say it is closer to approved than experimental.

And despite what you think, not all people have to agree 100% with Trump in order to be a conservative. This "RINO" baloney is nothing but McCarthyism. So you can get up off your knees from the Trump altar.
