How did it go for her? My day was still pretty decent, even though my A/C in my classroom had been broken since I got back to campus. It's been 85 degrees. The district assures me the parts are ordered to fix it. At lunchtime today, the A/C guys arrived with a huge portable A/C unit and parked it next to my desk. Plano ISD does tend to take care of employees. Sad news is that my older daughter's childhood friend with COVID is now hospitalized. Her lungs are clear so far, but her cerebral palsy affects her lungs, so...I am actually pretty nervous about her.
It went off without a hitch. She has to go to school from 7 to 9:30 am for volleyball and then she comes home for "school". It was just a feeling out day today. 30 minute zoom or Googlemeet. I hope nothing breaks out and the kids can stay at school instead of go home for it. I think eventually will start getting sick and it will test the system. Over/under on how long they stay in school (if they go back)? Done by Halloween. Very sorry to hear about your daughter's friend. I hope she gets through it. I hope her family is coping. You can't even see your loved one in the hospital.
My daughter's first day of 10th grade was today also. It was just a laying of the ground rules. She starts 5 days a week next week.
Yes she does. I don't live in a neighborhood, IB fact I have very few neighbors so her social life really went to shit. I am glad they are allowing kids to return my county had very few cases of covid.
According to my daughter, school sucks now. She used to love it. They're no longer allowed to congregate before school, which makes sense, but they also have to eat lunch in their classrooms, have to go directly to their next class when the bell rings and really don't have a chance to socialize at all. Luckily for her, they still do things outside of school, but I hate that they're having to go through it like this.
