the news has been alot about two places. louisiana and new york. my two areas of expertise.

south louisina has some goddamn many fatties. thats the issue. fatties. white fatties. and a shit ton of big fat jolly black guys. i dont blame these guys, i love BBQ too. but we are fat. especially our black friends. also, it turns out this virus was in the population long before we realized it . so mardi gras was much much much more dangerous than we thought. back during mardi gras we were already swimming in virus bu didnt know it yet. and millions came to parades and shit. fat people plus mardi gras is bad news.

in new york, i rode the subway every day. 5 million others did. twice a day. every car holds like a hundred people or more. every stop in midtown where people work, and the residntial areas like in queens and the bronx, like 100 people get on an off the train every minute. so when you get on the train there were like a thousand people on your car before you just in thr last 10 minutes.

we are about to be back to normal. new york is unique among american cities. it got huge before the car came along. its dense. like a european city. the rest of america is fine. california is spread out and barely cares about the virus.

this is all over, its winding down. our parents will live. unless they are fat and smoke, then they will die maybe.

@Jmg I think you’re too optimistic that the problem is over. I believe we’re going to see peaks and valleys for some time yet. Some places like NYC may still see need for more extreme measures.
However for much of the country there is opportunity to start more normal lives. I believe masks and sanitation and some form of social distancing. Those most at risk need to protect themselves as needed. The society as a whole cannot be responsible for everything. That means we need to find a balance and adjust as needed.
If we think it’s beaten it will smack us down again. Remember it’s not evil or brilliant or anything.....it’s just following the mandate of all living thing survival.
