I imagine to demonstrate how far flung the virus was, while we were fat, dumb, and happy it was not here, yet. There also "could be" a political slant, that it is not just a China Virus. It is sad they feel compelled to make that point.

 

agree. People have to have want to wear masks. They won't be forced to. Like the shelter in place held for the past month because people were mostly compliant. Now it is falling apart and the smart govt people know it and are trying to get out ahead of the issue.
