Another Covid victim. This area has been hit pretty hard over the last 15 years. NASCAR pulled one of the longest standing races and then Lowes pulled up stakes and moved its HQ to the Charlotte suburbs. This event brought word famous musicians and a little pride back. Started as a tribute to Merle Watson, Doc's boy. Now Doc is gone too. Things change.

 

What about CBD oil? Could it be effective in lessening the susceptibility to Covid?

 

One of my trout fishing buddies said he had counted 15 different out of state license plates in and around Boone earlier (I think Sunday) this week. We have a lady a couple houses down in a B&B who teaches at UNC, she is sheltering down here rather than in Chapel Hill due to much higher incidence up there.

 

From the NYTimes (I know, many of you default to "fake news") On March 1st there were 23 confirmed cases in the US. A new model suggests (and it has been agreed on by others) that there were 28,000 infections, just in the cities specified. Gene analysis shows infections from multiple European sources with a lesser number from China.

 

And the European "sources" originated in China. I don't really see the slant or "point" they're trying to push.

I actually read a science article on the genealogy of SarsCoV2. They trace it by observing mutations at certain sites. The original Wuhan Strain landed in Washington, and they also think a second person in British Columbia. The New York strain migrated from Europe. They noted that it’s likely the virus has been silently spreading through the population since mid January.

It’s a complete 180 from what people keep saying. The virus is not a very serious infection in most people, and actually has a 50%+ asymptomatic rate. Compare to Flu at 16%. As such it is a stealth spreader. You only know it’s there when it hits a susceptible target, but it’s infected thousands before that person gets it. This makes it a nightmare to trace.
