Yep ... coming into the summer months, hospital cases typically go down. And since we all locked down, the Flu is practically gone, so no competition on that front. I think we should get to opening up the South by next week. May want to wait a couple more weeks before we open up the NE. Still noticing a lot of hoodies and jackets in those liberate protest up North. I want to see a bunch of short sleeves .... then we can talk.

No, the more that get it the worse. That is not what you want for a Viral outbreak that affects the respiratory system, you want the least amount of people to get it. You want it to die out. The more people that have it the more likely it is to mutate into something that is even more deadly. The more people that have it the more likely this will be seasonal in nature, as it will just never die out. That is exactly what happened with the Spanish flu, and the new mutated version after the summer killed babies and young kids and healthy adults.

Your immunity when you get it isn't a cure, it only last for so long. So you have just as much chance to catch this next year as you do now until a Vaccine is around. And we have no idea what happens when you catch it for the second time, maybe if you already have had it, it could be much more deadly.

And even when you have the Vaccine, it can mutate early and be an issue. We saw that happen about 3 years ago with one of the Flu strains, they included a type A and B in our vaccine. Well at some point it mutated and a type C started going around America and no one had the immunity. I know this because I got the Flu that year and get the Flu shot, was pissed.

AND.... we are seeing efficacy that this Virus does permanent damage to your Heart, lungs, kidneys and other organs when you get it with symptoms.... So even if you get the bad version and survive, we don't know what that means long term... This isn't something you want, this isn't something you want to deal with seasonally.

But hey, some people, even a bunch of people FEEL like they want to get things going again. It doesn't matter how you feel. If we do this wrong, it could go very badly for us all.

I don’t know man .... coronavirus does not seem to have the high mutation rate of influenza. Stuff I’ve been reading insinuates it is a pretty stable virus, with only something like 26 proteins.

There is merit in letting it die out, if indeed it does die out, but there is also merit in herd immunity. This imo is especially relevant given that studies are beginning to show that some 85% of those infected have mild to no symptoms. If you prevent herd immunity and it does not die out, it could come back with a vengence.

I feel like the people that want a year of lockdown fall onto these groups.

    Retired and old.
    Don’t work.
    Make minimum wage/low income.
    Democrats.

The ONLY way it goes bad for us ALL is if we DON'T get things going again.

Look slappy, here it is plain and simple. We MUST get back to work, everyone or we will all end up in some sick worse than Venezuela situation. There will be a 2nd wave, it's simply unavoidable and tragic as it may be people will die, my father will probably die, there is a good chance my Aunt will die, that sucks but life HAS to go on or everyone will fucking die.

I just love the way these fricken attention whores keep parroting the official line. Next thing ya know, they are going to come out with a story that there were no deaths today, proving what we are doing is working, thus we must keep it up to ensure it doesn’t come back.

I see the economy and your 401k is more important than human life. The economy will do fine, it will rebound. Dead people will not.

Things will open back up, but your approach of fuck it they are going to die anyway isn't really the way I would go about it. The second wave is avoidable, hell the first wave was avoidable.
