If that is true, then I am optimistic things will go back to normal sooner than later.

And I am very skeptical of all this, I take this seriously, but man its just so hard to believe any information in this modern day and age where we literally have every piece of information at our fingertips. Some 1984 shit going on in the world atm, people are saying some pretty eye opening things. I get most every point made here, I may lean left but I am not a blind follower of all things left. I am more of a free thinker that things any solution should be tried, especially if a previous solution is shit. I make up my own mind, and I understand what I am seeing. So there will be a point in all of this which I say BS. Someone is lying about all this, someone is using this as control. But for now, its a pandemic and we must all join in to defeat it.

You are just glossing over that literally the experts say that millions would of died had we kept things status quo. And that still can happen, man you guys change realities fast.

Also, I don't trust the numbers globally at all, I don't trust anything these days. But that may be the point of this all. All I can do is try and trust something, and I have read multiple projections that said that it could be millions.

Japan is a weird place to judge, they are pretty on point for things since they got hit by SARS pretty hard, and we may find that there is some immunity gained from a population that had SARS against COVID due to that. I have read a few longitudinal studies that posit that.

I get it, you go around and only believe in what you feel is right in your head. Just because i don't like something doesn't mean I don't believe in it. This was bound to happen with a proper response, or we were lied too about it all. I get it, you don't believe the experts, I do and think we acted appropriately. There is no way either of us know which is right, we could both be wrong as well.

I'm not killing myself. I abuse alcohol anyway and if she beats me I'll tell my mommy.

I dont need to believe anything. There is actual evidence they cooked the books and the models were WAY off.

There is also evidence China knew about this from 2019 and did nothing and the WHO is useless.

Ok let’s look at this model stuff. The models were based on the information that we had at the moment. First we had China saying their numbers were low, looks like they added some overnight but most likely still lying and withholding numbers. Then this hit Europe. Italy was the next hotspot with way more deaths than most other countries. Why? That will be studied for a long time to figure out. But more deaths increased the numbers in the models. Let’s also remember that no one knew what to treat this with. We started treating with hydroxychloroqine and it was working, thus less deaths were occurring. So the models were reworked based on the numbers that we were seeing at the time. The models use the data that was available at the time they were worked up. Those data points changed as we progressed, thus changing the models. If this had started here instead of China, it would have been devastating. But we were fortunate enough to get some delays and start working on mitigation that other countries didn’t. Taiwan did not get hit hard because they did not believe China and shut travel down. They tried to sound the alarm but the WHO shut them down.

I think we have a good plan to start getting things moving again. I think here in TX we will open things sooner than Louisiana will and I also think there may be certain parts of Texas that will open sooner than others. But looking back is not going to solve the problems. It’s time to look forward and get thing moving again
