I'm not wrecking millions of lives for a possible 100K deaths.....

We have the data. Should have been open weeks ago. Put 60 and over on quarantine, optional if you are scared, and everyone else back to work with protection if you so choose.

Like I said, have said, and will repeat, your heart has a greater chance of 86'ing you than this virus.

At the end of the day, as with modern life, this is a modern risk we are going to have to live with. Based on the numbers, it is an acceptable risk.

Here's my deal. They can open up the country but until there is a therapeutic or a vaccine, I am on house arrest. I think the sooner it opens up, the more likely we are to have a lot more people die, or have to go through extreme social distancing.

If I was in charge, and you came into my hospital with suspected CV, first question would be "do you work in an essential job?" Next question would be, "do you have a close family member with CV who you live with/care for?" If the answer to both of those questions is "No" you would be directed over there....there being a quarantine jail.

Employers are going to have a hard time opening if there is a single doc/epidemiologist that says we need more tests, time or anything. If businesses say "Come back, we are opening" they will be sitting on the biggest liability claim in the history of the universe. Sad state when legal concerns will in all likelihood overshadow either health or economic ones.

It's illuminating to see how little you value my life. Cheers!

Do you think about the possible person you could kill every-time you get in your car?

Every-time someone dies from heart disease, do you weep? The answer is no. You will take your ass out in public and buy the same products that kill many more over the course of a lifetime.

I'd further suggest many of you could give two shits about the abuse of China on its citizens and have no problems using your iphone made over there. How many in China are dying to make our products?

Which is your choice and your freedom. Imagine a country telling you to do something different from what "you" feel is best for you?

Hitler had one of those for Jews.....

Well that may be YOUR deal but here is THE deal!

The other 300mil plus in this country and the rest of the global economy I might add do not have that kind of time.

If you want to be scared, meh, concerned for your health then by all means take the precautions you feel are required. If you want to be angry, then be angry at the source, China not Trump. Someone has already pointed out, it is here and it won't be stopped, not by quarantine, not by social distance, not by taking away your or my rights. When they do open it back up and it is going to happen sooner than later, it will spread. People will get sick, people will die and as tragic as that may be if we don't do that we will ALL die.

I don’t believe car accidents increase the numbers ..... that is just using absurdity to illustrate the absurd. The real absurd is including deaths that are “suspected” to be due to COVID19.

But the point I was making is ... COVID19 kills via pneumonia. You may have a heart attack due to the pneumonia, but pneumonia is the primary cause ... ie, MI secondary to pneumonia. It’s a forgone conclusion, if the heart can’t get oxygen, it’ll have an MI. ..... so, the difference in pneumonia cases vs non pneumonia cases tends to suggest that they are including deaths that were not directly due to COVID19. And given that it is totally subjective .... an auto accident patient who is brought to the hospital, who can’t get the sufficient care needed allegedly because of all the COVID19 cases, could potentially be labeled as a death associated with COVID19. But ... we can’t know, because we aren’t given the data ... HIPPA.

If I were King, I would first off open up ALL of the States where covid is low, with a directive to require mask in places of close contact, like stores, employment when possible, etc. Second, I’d direct the States to implement a protective measure for high risk populations. With the new rapid test, Nursing home employees get Tested everyday upon Entering the facility. Visitors to hospitals, same. I would suggest all waitresses, hair dressers, etc wear a mask. ..... For the higher risk areas, a lot of the above would also apply, but be strictly enforced.

We can social distance without shutting down the economy.
