News Is coronavirus a wild card?

Over 85% of COVD cases are mild symptoms..... People are walking around with it and have NO symptoms. The data is clear.

All the hysteria about overwhelming our hospitals is false. The estimations were way off.

 

Cost of doing business. 30 million unemployed for a 90 day shutdown will be great depression level pain.

We want a "open" and "global" society, this is a cost we are going to have to live with...

 

We can use Louisiana as an example. Less than 2000 people required Hospital stays in Louisiana and less than 600 ventilators were/are being used.

"Back in Louisiana, there are 1,809 COVID-19 patients in state hospitals. Of that number, 563 patients are on ventilators, officials said."

To add, the governor said that the cases are looking to flatten this week....

How is this "overwhelming" numbers?

Like, the state is fucking shutting down. How is this an appropriate response?

 

peoples movements are greatly reduced. The impact of asymptomatic / mild symptomatic carriers is greatly reduced. Hospitals are not overwhelmed because of actions put in place. I think Trumps, state, and local govts are doing a good job. Actions have been progressive so as not to go full panic. Today it looks like we are rounding the peak This would be a shit show without past actions. We would be burying our parents and grandparents, or they would be burying some of us. That shit right there would fuck up the morale of a nation. When everyone wants to be fucking honest, we value our family maybe just a little more than "the economy".

The economy will bounce back. There is nothing in place to stop it but a pandemic.

If we reach 30 million in unemployment based on predictions of prolonged shutdowns, it just might be worse. The great depression topped at like 25% unemployment. The predictions for this are over 30%....

We had 10 million added to unemployment in 2 WEEKS!!!!
