And how many people do you think will die once unemployment reaches 30 million as predicted if we continue with shutting the country down?

How much is acceptable for you?

To your point though, people die from others stupidity all the time. That isn't necessarily illegal in many cases.

As far as I can tell, the only places overrun are the dense places like NYC, NO, LA with massive amounts of people in such a small area.

If I got it here in North Texas, I wouldn't have a problem being treated.

this is a false dichotomy. we can start letting, for example, half of the employees work, or have people get tested and certified OK that are immune and cured. i dunno, but at some point things go back to normal.

that doesnt mean churches should get 200 idiots together for superstitions

we can rethink and recalibrate after two weeks of lockdown are complete. thats how long it takes for the virus to run its course. if in 10 days we are good, fine, lets start playing ultimate frisbee and meeting up the book club again

What is the difference in church vs target and people shopping for clothes?

I think it far better to recommend the sick and elderly shelter in place and everyone else get back to work unless you are sick.

Even still, I do not like what I saw in China of government officials taking people and quarantining them against their will. I get why that would sound good in theory to save lives, but I dont trust the government with that power.

    Never will.

That is why I dont have a problem with people going to church because I still see people shopping for "non-essential goods".

I think church is just an easy target.

I think some places, like where I am, are already past 10 days and the national media is pushing for months. Even the DR is saying to hold restrictions in place for a good long while.

obviously churches are seats where you sit together in a big crowd. also going to buy clothes now would be stupid. you dont need new clothes. just go to the grocery store and then the park for a picnic.

maybe eventually thats what we are gonna do.

then lets not go to church so we never get to the point where we have to worry about that. do what you need to do in groups of one or two.

an easy and appropriate target. you are right people shouldnt be shopping for non-essential goods. go to wal-mart, buy the ammunition and the milk and go home.

i said 10 days meaning 10 more days here in BTR. we here in LA started this over a week ago. another week and a few and we can rethink. i dunno the score in texas but i know you cant judge anything based on now, its a 14ish day delay.
