I suppose this brings us to the question of whether alien intelligent life contradicts christianity, and if not would their souls have been saved by Jesus as well? Who's likeness would they be made from? Why are humans the only animals that get a heaven?
If aliens are out there (likely) then the sacrifice of Jesus saves them too. I don't know why the existence of aliens would be contradictory to anything in Christianity. These aliens are made in the likeness of God. We being made in his image reflects our souls and not our physical form. Human are the only animals that go to heaven cause we have immortal souls. Animals don't.
St. Thomas Aquinas reasoned that man has an immortal soul which is created in the image and likeness of God. Animals, plants, fungi, and i guess protisits have material souls that die when they do. This is consistent with man's dominion over the creatures and plants of the earth.
Yeah pretty much. Some drifter told me that the aliens that pick him up and give him rides always talk about Jesus. He might have meant Mexicans though.
I can understand the concept of a omniscient diety. But it is hard to imagine one in the body of a human being. I can't imagine a diety having gender either. There can't be a Mr. and Mrs. God.
