The winner of the Sugar Bowl gets the Crystal Trophy. The symbol of the NC. The reality is this... There are no undefeated teams this season and the BCS system is not perfect. USC fans wanted in this game just like all of you did. LaFitte will still end up drunk with happiness if LSU wins.
Well, the media will do EVERYTHING it can catering to the court of public opinion if USuCk wins their game. The AP will give them their votes to keep in the good graces of the LALA's and SuCk fans. If we both win then I guaranty every media outlet will call it a split championship regardless of what we claim here. LSU should not have its accomplishments diminshed like that so....Bottom line, MICHIGAN MUST WIN! Its gonna be my motto until the Hose Bowl is played!
That didn't answer my question. I know the Coaches poll will automatically have the winner of the Sugar Bowl as No. 1, but the fact is that if they had the choice, lots of coaches said they'd put USC. So since the AP doesn't have to, why would someone be so sure we'd get those extra 15 points if both us and USC win?
I dont think there is any what whatsoever to be "sure" about it. I dont really think it matters. If USuK wins the writers will probably put them number 1 which is why..MICHIGAN MUST WIN! Every Tigah fan needs to pull the wolverines through in this game and then all this talk is history.
I'll bet you kids didn't have many "toys" as children ... and went round' whining and playing with your only friend ... the PULL toy. I've got a Halloween idea for you kids for next year ... you can go as a Trojan "PULL TOY". Dress up buck naked on roller skates and wear one of those goofy trojan helmets ... you know the ones with the red O-Cedar broom on top
Yes, LSU fans would've been angry if we hadn't made the Sugar Bowl. The difference (and it's big) is that the media wouldn't have given a @*%$ if we weren't in. They're acting like USC was robbed.
I agree. And it's not so much that they are saying USC was robbed, because that would die down after a little while. It's that they are PROCLAIMING the Rose Bowl as the National Title game. What Ramah doesn't see is that it isn't if we were screwed, it's that we HAVE BEEN screwed! We may win the coaches poll because of a stipulation in the contract, but if both us and USC win, the national media is going to proclaim that USC is the real national champion, and LSU will never get a chance to prove them wrong.
... by Brad Edwards Robert (Baton Rouge, LA): Given USC is only 15 points ahead of LSU in AP poll and OU has 8 first place votes, if LSU takes care of OU by a decent margin of victory and plays well, why would they not jump USC in the AP poll even if USC wins? Brad Edwards: That's an interesting angle, and it certainly isn't out of the question. The assumption is that anyone voting USC at No. 1 wouldn't change their ballot if the Trojans win, but you are correct that LSU could conceivably jump to No. 1 in the AP without any voter bailing off SC. It really depends how many voters have LSU at No. 3. But all that aside, I think there might be some sentiment toward USC because of the perceived injustice with the BCS system, and that might pull a few more votes USC's way. You make a great point, though. I think there might be some sentiment toward USC because of the perceived injustice with the BCS system, and that might pull a few more votes USC's way. He does make a great point ... because people will "GET PAST" this steady chorus of whining and temper tantrums being thrown by USC ... and supported by "Choda Boy" Trev & Company Hey ... there's X-mas and the hoildays ... recruiting ... and pre-game press focusing on THE GAMES ... LSU wins it ... we'll get AP
You have to look at a couple of things here. USC has 42 first place votes and LSU has 21. So why is it such a close margin? Probably because a few people have it: 1. LSU 2. Oklahoma 3. USC. IF that's the case, if we beat Oklahoma, USC gains a point in every one of those polls. The only way we could do it is if we get both of the Oklahoma No. 1's and we get 10 voters to change their votes to LSU. What do you think the likelihood (knowing that they didn't do it when we beat Georgia in comparison to Oregon State) that they would say LSU beat a tougher Oklahoma team than USC did in Michigan? It won't happen, either because of the same old laziness of voters, or because they want to see the BCS done away with. We HAVE to have a Michigan win.
