Are we both talking about the guy who thought we'd be greeted as liberators? I'm not saying the only reason was to set up a pro-America middle eastern government, but I think that idea was a contributing factor in the initial decision making.

    Ahh, you've read Mein Kampf!

Sourdough, I've already told you that I wasn't questioning Salty's faith. I was questioning his suggestion of "killing them all" and I was using some of his own arguments against him. It's an old debating tactic, Sourdough, it's nothing personal.

I've argued the bible and the war with Salty many times. It's great to debate an issue with someone who fells strongly about his positions and Salty makes good points sometimes. I just thought this one deserved a challenge.

We come here to argue politics and can't be too thin skinned when somebody takes a contrary position.

The answer is to ruthless kill our enemies, but not another 100 million people who kinda looks like our enemies, and never kill our enemy's women and children deliberately. That's Nazi chit and as un-American and as un-Christian a thing that I can imagine.

The notion that the US has the power to just eliminate countries without regard for our allies, our other enemies, or the will of the citizens is the Neocon ideology that's responsble for the mess we are in. Anyone who is still good with that is astonishing to me.

Our enemy is Al Qaida. They are a few thousand international criminals who scurry like roaches back and forth in the middle east where they think thay can blend in. The best solution is to kill the roaches, not demolish all the houses in town.

Civil War? Apparently only the people who don't live in Iraq think there is a civil war going on. According to Times Online only about a quarter of Iraqis think they are in a civil war.
More Iraqis say that life now is better than it was under Saddam.

Lets talk about this silly little poll for a minute.
If I am an Iraqi and I live in Iraq these days or 2 years ago it would be stupid
to join the American side when you hear all of these reports from the anti-
Iraq, anti-war crowd, cut and run, Vietnam.
They should do a silly poll and see how many Iraqis think America is going
to cut and run, retreat before the job is completed.

All the Iraqis have to look at is recent history.
Cut and run from Vietnam American supporters were killed.
In 1991, The Gulf war we should have taken Saddam out then but anyway
when the cease fire took effect and we left Saddam tortured and killed a
    bunch of innocent individuals.

So maybe part of this whole problem could be contributed to the whole cut and run anti war left in this country.
Thank God this same group wasn't around during WWII or we would all be at
the mercy of the Third Reich, HI Hitler!

I have no idea how to respond to this rambling, pointless series of unrelated comments.

Did you read the poll? It didn't require response. Here are some other numbers from the same poll.

Less than half prefer life under the new Iraqi government.
Over half think security will improve when the US leaves.

Even more interesting was the comment posted with the story.

Suicide attack kills 8 in Iraqi parliament cafeteria

"BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- A suicide attack in Iraq's parliament building on Thursday killed eight people, including two Iraqi lawmakers, and wounded 20, U.S. and Iraqi officials said.

After the attack in the building's cafeteria, more explosives were found near the parliament room and were destroyed in a controlled detonation, according to Iraqi lawmaker Iman al-Asadi."

Suicide bombers in the GREEN ZONE?!?! I thought Iraq's safety was getting better?
