Hey TigerFan apple has a 10-day price protection policy, you should be able to get your full $200 back http://www.tuaw.com/2007/09/05/apple-screwed-you-so-now-what/
Yeah it looks like I'm going to be ok. I bought it with my American Express card, so I can maybe get a rebate through them. It looks like Apple will be offering a $100 credit to the Apple Store, as well, which I'll definitely use if I can't get the full rebate. All in all, I'm really not that disappointed. I've been extremely satisfied with my iPhone thus far.
Is the price drop really a surprise? I fully expected this. The market can not sustain a $500 cell phone. When it drops below $200 I'll think about it.
Any update from y'all with iPhones?? My Razr is on its absolute last leg, and I'll have to get a replacement in the next month or so. I'm still infatuated with the iPhone, despite its large size and kinda large sticker price. Any updated experiences are much appreciated.
I've had mine from day one. I love it. I know at least 12 friends, family, coworkers that have one as well. They all say that it is the best phone that they've ever had. I would agree. Since the price dropped down to $400 it is reasonably priced compared to similar PDA phones like the Treo. I have about 350 songs, 1000 photos, and 4 movies downloaded on my iPhone.
I just bought a new Ford Explorer with the SYNC package last month. Best $325 option I ever spent. It not only automatically syncs with a Bluetooth phone in the car and becomes a speakerphone, but it has a USB port in the console, so you can hook up the iPod or iPhone and play it over the stereo with the radio panel displaying the song playing. You can scroll through playlists, artists, albums, or tracks and volume with controls on the steering wheel or you can use friggin' voice commands for the music or the phone. I can just say "play track Black Magic Woman" and the computer plays Santana or I say "call Carol" and it interrupts the music and places the call via bluetooth on the cellphone in my pocket. My hands never leave the wheekl and my eyes never leave the road. I don't even carry the iPod around except on long trips. I have a tiny 4-gig USB thumb drive which I loaded with about 60 albums from my iTunes library, and the friggin' truck recognizes all the music files on it and the artists/album/genre/track metadata, too, and displays it on the dash. I keep the tiny RAM drive plugged in to the USB port all the time now. And it is totally compatible with the iPhone, which I will acquire when my Motorola phone or my current iPod breaks down. Maybe iPhone 2.0 with fast broadband capability and possibly GPS will be out by then. "sync" "shuffle on" "play genre blues"
The only thing that has kept me from getting one is the fact that you can't send picture messages. A friend of mine has one and let me use it for a day and that was the only thing I don't like. Anyone know of a way to get around that or was that just something I couldn't figure out?
the new blackberry curve 8310 has built in gps. you can use the gps feature for free with google maps or pay $10 a month for telenav......
