The fumble play didn't look like a first down but Oregon could have kicked a field goal to go up by 6. Might have been a different ballgame.
Who cares about another field goal. You kneel it starting on first down. The best case scenario for Stanford is 10 seconds left, no timeouts and the ball inside their own 20, needing a field goal. I mean, Jesus Christ, where is clock management on either the collegiate or NFL level? Last week fucking idiot Sean Payton decides to throw two incomplete passes instead of running out the clock, so a winning FG with no time left on the clock turned into Cleveland miraculously having a shot at tying the game to force OT.
