I would not be surprised if we hire Steve Spurrier. $1.75 million is not alot of money and we could take it out of his first year's salary. For instance, a four year contract that goes $250,000, $2,000,000, $2,000,000, and $2,000,000. He is the closest to a sure thing for keeping this thing rolling. Why would Spurrier leave South Carolina for LSU? Because he wants to win, and it is much easier at LSU with our talent than at South Carolina with theirs. Why would Spurrier agree to $250,000 at LSU when he is making more than a million at South Carolina? Because he would make more during his tenure at LSU than during a tenure at South Carolina. And, money is not his primary concern; winning is. He has tens of millions of dollars. Wouldn't that be the ultimate betrayal to leave South Carolina before his first season? No. He has never coached or recruited a player on that team. Current recruits can always change their commitment and South Carolina has well over a month before signing day. But he wouldn't sacrifice his potential membership in Augusta? Get serious. He is not going to make a career decision on that. And he is available to interview and hire right now. No bowl or other distractions.
If you had brains ... you'd be dangerous LSU'd win games by 30 points on average ... 50+ to 20+ per game Yeah, really ... who at LSU wants to see 600 yards offense and 50 points a game ... imagine azzclowns of that magnitude :dis:
I live in South Carolina, and this Xmas my whole family got "Spurrier" T-shirts... I doubt at all he even thinks about coming to BR. Its a pipe dream. He didn't want high expectations, coming to LSU (people expecting Championships) would be tantamount to going back to Florida (which he didn't do).
Ramah, are you a Texas Tech fan incognito? All I here from you is about TT's offense and how they had two of the best QB's of all time. You sure you are really a Tiger fan ?
You just showed your age with that comment. Go call your bookie and put a couple dimes on Fresno State (well that is if you actually have a bookie and 2 dimes to put on any game).
Actually he had slight interest, but didn't want to "interview" for it. But this was before IMO he saw that coming back, he would be expected to run sh t in the SEC like he did for years. The coaches in the SEC are a different breed now, and I think he saw that he probably would have a better chance elsewhere, where expectations were a tad smaller. Plus he has already signed a contract with USC, has any coach ever renigged after signing a K but before starting to coach ?
