I've never been a fan of having an interim coach, the issues get too muddied I think.

also let's face the fact that there is an overwhleming number of tiger fans who gave up on brady a long time ago and won't come back (winner or not) until he's gone. it's a shame. not defending brady, but I'm a tiger win or lose, no matter who the coach is.

LSUtiger327 - you are exactly right. There is nothing that Brady can do to win over the fans. There is an awful lot of ugly, muddy water under that bridge. We must look forward and change this tide. The players deserve better, the fans deserve better. Brady has had his chance. No one forced him into the actions that caused the bitterness fans feel towards him.

For those of you rememeber 1978-1981 Tiger basketball, Basketball was king at LSU back then Not football. I know we all want to now say that football is king & basketball is not, but let me tell you, there is nothing like being a contender in March Madness. I am a LSU football fan first, been one all my life. But the Madness is electric.
Playing Magic Johnson in 1979, beating the Wheatshockers in 1980, Silly in Philly in 81, taking 4 times to finally beat Kentucky & getting to the final 4 in 86, Losing on a last second miss in the elite 8 in 87, & Brady's bunch with Stomile here recently. These were absolutely FANtastic times.
We want more. Brady can't deliver. Excuses, excuses, excuses.

We ARE medicocre at best since Brady has been coach. With 10 more years of Brady, we'll get 2-3 more 2nd round losses in the NCAA & 2-3 more NIT invites. Not electric, not fun.

BEST reply in this thread!! I couldn't agree more! I got so excited during one game that I jumped up from my seat and when I came back to "earth" I was 2 rows behind my seat!

I'm not accepting it. I'm just dealing with it. I don't see what can be gained by all of the wailing and gnashing of teeth. For all of TE's ramblings on the subject, he's absolutely on point in one area: Failure to put "the meat in the seats" will be Brady's downfall.

you all make some ok points. but also the poll is meaningless. if you poll the general poulation, they will say one of their favorite sports to watch is figure skating. women who generally do not care about sports have weird responses to polls like this, but it doesnt mean anything, because they should be doing my laundry instead of taking sports polls.

For those keeping score at home (martin, get your abacus handy!), martin retains his streak of disagreeing or trying to discount every topic ever brought up by yours truly...

The poll was obviously interesting enough that it spawned its own thread and generated plenty of discussions and discussion tangents...thereby rendering it meaningful in the context for which I used it...to generate discussion...which is the meaning for this entire site...

But thank you for the consistency, martin! Now get back to your furious Private Messages regarding me & my attacks on your lack of beliefs, LOL!

with the pathetic performance by Kentucky tonight, I thought I would jump on the fire a coach bandwagon and get a new website started- www.firetubby.com

I sure am glad I don't bet anymore. USCOCKS lose to Auburn at home and then beat UK. Go figure. The SEC is impossible to bet on.

roygu - Please define "yet" as you seem to be holding out some unfathomable hope. What part of Stromile Swift, Jabari Smith, Lamont Roland, Brian Beshara, and Torris Bright are you missing. The talent has come through the system. The talent has left the system (at unbelievable rates of attrition I might add). The talent has come again and is not improving.

In other sports you must get many players (9 or 11) to understand the system. In basketball, it's about 5 players. It's the only sport where five 18 or 19 year-old kids can come in and immediately win, see Michigan. To a slightly lesser extent, see Syracuse two years ago. Brady does not have some kind of complicated Saban-minded system to put in. It's simple. And actually, it's simple and ineffective. So the idea that all of sudden everything is going to "click" in year 8 of his tenure is ridiculous.

tirk made some outstanding points. Instead of trying to loyally defend the man till all hope is lost, just try to understand the how and the why of how this program has gotten to the point it has and how it and it's leaders are currently viewed. And understand that it may be at a point of no return.

If this were a company, or a professional franchise (I should clarify that with the word "legitimate" as some professional franchises do not operate with the intent on winning championships, but simply appreciating in value - Minnesotta Vikings), then Brady would have been gone long ago. But unfortunately, the administration and board of directors has not stressed the importance of basketball over the past decade. Money has not been invested in the program, so a sub-par product remains. I don't blame this entirely on Brady, but the point remains the same. When Skip Bertman came to LSU, resources weren't being poured into baseball. Skip went out there, painted Alex Box with his own hands. Invested himself first, and then got buy-in from players, then the fans, and eventually the administration. Brady has been unable to do that. I'm not suggesting that he go replace the seats himself, or do the do some of the things that Skip had to do, I don't think that is necessary. But I do think he has to get buy-in from somone or from somewhere. He hasn't. It hasn't come from the players, the administration, or the fans. So where else is he going to get it?
